If you have visited mPerks.com or logged into your Meijer app, you may have noticed that things looked a little different this week. Here are the Meijer mPerks changes you’ll want to know about – as they apply to rewards and auto-clipped digital coupons.
Meijer mPerks Rewards now start themselves
You no longer need to activate your reward before shopping – or choose when to start it. This is great news if you’ve ever forgotten to log into mPerks before shopping. You’ll begin earning your available rewards when you make a qualifying purchase and enter your mPerks ID at checkout.
For the moment, many of you have noted fewer rewards available to you (only 3 or 4 total). Hopefully we’ll see more reward options return in the future.
Meijer mPerks Earned Rewards are ready immediately
In the past, after earning a reward you would need to wait at least 24 hours for it to appear in your account to redeem. Use your mPerks ID every time you check out and you will be automatically notified at the register when rewards are ready to redeem. No more manual clipping.
mPerks Auto-Clipped Coupons end
The ability to auto-clip suggested coupons was a favorite feature of mine, and I’m sad to see it go (especially because it activated mPerks total purchase coupons automatically). Meijer claims that new manufacturer coupon policies now limit their ability to auto-clip coupons for you through mPerks. All coupons will need to be selected and clipped yourself – and, with the app, you can still do this even while shopping in the store.
Get mPerks alerts with the Meijer app
Do you use the Meijer app? Opt into notifications on your mobile device to be alerted whenever you start and earn rewards. The app will also alert you to sales (like this past weekend, when you could save an extra 50% off clearance items in clothing, shoe and toy departments).
What do you think about the changes to mPerks? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
