Beginning May 14, Michigan Kroger weekly ads will begin on Wednesday and run until Tuesday. Currently, Kroger ads are in effect from Monday through Sunday each week.
Customers should still receive ads the same way as before, (and on the same day of the week) both online and in print – those ads just won’t be in effect until Wednesday. That should allow for some nice planning ahead when it comes to Kroger shopping trips.
Why make an ad change?
Kroger says, “In the past, Sundays were the last day of the ad cycle, and our stores had to prepare to change displays and tags for Monday’s new sales. With Sunday being one of the busiest shopping days of the week, it didn’t make sense to keep it as the last day in the ad cycle. Many of the divisions across the company are making this change.”
And that’s true – the Columbus/Great Lakes Kroger region just started this new ad schedule on April 2 – and other nationwide divisions rolled it out earlier in the year. The Cincinnati region is expected to make the switch in May as well (though I can’t confirm it right now).
You can expect a reminder in the May Kroger ads – and the last sale ad before the change will last 10 days as the cycle switches.
