One of my favorite luxuries is a getting a pedicure. Of course, I’ve enjoyed only a few in my lifetime. The frugal chick in me usually just tries to do the best I can DIY-style. My daughter and I like to spend girl time painting our toes the same color – so I was excited when Meijer asked if I’d like to try out some new shades from Essie.
My little one is big on knowing the name of the “paint polish” shade of her choosing. She was happy to pick out Essie’s “lady like” from the lineup – a gentle pink. With 6 colors to choose from, she didn’t want to stop there. “Carry on” won her second choice – a more adult deep plum color.
Of course, all of Essie’s shades have sophisticated names in the fall collection, which “pays homage to the glorious world of gorgeous handbags” and the “simple elegance of post-war styles”:
- carry on (magnetic mulberry merlot)
- very structured (creamy burnt sienna)
- case study (rich camel beige)
- glamour purse (almond blush)
- lady like (pretty, demure pink)
- power clutch (enigmatic darkest green)
I don’t usually use salon-quality polish (mostly because of the cost), so I was impressed by the way it was easy to apply. No streaking, no need for a second coat. Though it seemed thin on the brush, it covered completely. We were both thrilled by how easy it was to use!
