VG’s SHOPPING TIPS
Did you know? VG’s offers a $0.05 reusable bag credit per bag you bring. You may have to remind your cashier, however, as the credit is not automatic.
You’ll find printable Spartan coupons at the Turn to Spartan website. You’ll need to register first. Coupons are limited to 1 per family and will NOT double, but they could stretch your savings even further.
Save your receipts – as part of VG’s Community Share Program, they can benefit non-profit groups in Michigan. You don’t need to sign up; simply find a group collecting receipts and turn yours in to them. Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica (45160 Van Dyke at Hall Rd) collects VG’s receipts to purchase socks for the homeless. You can leave your receipts at the front desk there if you can’t find another participating group.
Visit the Meat Department and hunt for the yellow rectangular markdown tags. VG’s routinely offers 50% off soon-to-expire meat; most packages are good cuts of meat with no sign of aging and won’t expire for 2 more days, which allows plenty of time for cooking or freezing.
Shopping with Kids? Stop by the customer service desk and sign them up for the Zoo Crew Kids’ Club. They’ll receive special treats, including a cookie from the bakery when they visit!

I’m new to this. Can you use a manufacturers coupon given by one store at another store? I have Kroger coupons that are marked manufacturers coupons that would save me money at VG’s.
Julie-you can always try. In my experience, most stores won’t take them. Alot depends on your cashier-if they’ll attempt to scan it and it doesn’t beep-you’re good. Most won’t even try. The barcode is key, if it starts with a 5, it is really a man q, many store q’s start with a 9. Each store is different, but most are pretty snarky about those.
The Brighton VG’s has the Wonderful Pistachios but now the sign says $3.99 – net $1.99 after doubled $1 coupon – kind of a lot for a small 8 oz bag. Bummer !

Where are they located in Brighton? I was there yesterday and didn’t see them. I looked in the first aisle where all the other nuts are. I just scanned, so it’s totally possible I missed them though!

I shop the Brighton VGs and they had them scattered through out the store….some bins by the produce and some bins in the back across from the yogurt too!

You’ll have to find details in the store, though it is likely that VG’s cards aren’t eligible.
Anyone know if this is a good deal? I have to buy a high value gift card this year and wondering if I should do this, or hold out for a better deal somewhere?
Also, the $50 ONYO, will that be a traditional CAT and have to be used all at once? (I’m not sure I could spend $50 at once at VG’s) or will it be more like a gift card that can be deducted down with multiple uses??

I was at the Brighton VG’s today and they still had the sale for Spartan turkeys for .49/lb w/ $20 additional purchase going on. The sign said through 11/28.
Hey all. While shopping in Vg’s north fenton today, I bought the idaho baking potatoes for 2.77 a bag. There was a display of kraft cheese whiz next to it with a $1 off potato coupon when you bought the cheese whiz, making the potatoes .77
The new Kraft coupons that were listed on the homepage of bargaintobounty have a coolwhip coupon for $1.00/ 2. In which the coolwhip is on sale for 99c. So you can score 2 free coolwhips with that coupon and you are able to print it twice! For a total of 4 free coolwhips!
It also has a $1.00/2 of off any Kraft shedded cheese, which is on sale for $2.00 this week. So you can get 2 packages of shredded chese for $2.00. Which is great for me cuz my hubby only eats Kraft.
The Smart Source insert in this weekend’s Fenton Press had $1 off a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper. They are on sale at VG’s for $2.88, so after the double coupon it’s $.88 for a 12 pack-great deal.
