Yikes, that’s terrible news! We ditched our color printer because the ink wasn’t worth it… a policy change like that would cause me to switch stores! 🙁
We have a local place called Cartridge World and the ink is only $10 for black and $13.99 for colored..so its not that expensive. So I understand how they are wanting to do it b/c of fraud.
I dont see how printing in color is going to solve anything…you can print multiples in color or copy them in color ….

It’s easiest to get your issues worked out if you can check your receipt for errors before you leave the store. Of course, I know that’s not always possible. If you take your receipt back to the store with the coupons that weren’t scanned, they’ll be able to give you money for those coupons. However, if you no longer have copies of those coupons in hand, it could be a little more difficult since you have no proof.
I have had that happen before. If I can ketch it before I leave, the person at customer service can go back to the register and pull all the coupons. Then she has to sort through them to find the one I am talking about. Once I am home I am usually out of luck as they wont be able to go to the register and pull the coupons. Jolyn once suggested going through the self serve line that way you can scan your own coupons to make sure they go through.
I watch closely as they’re being scanned and call it to the cashier’s attention when I don’t see the total go down with each coupon. It usually happens with the MM coupons…often. 🙂

Okay, there are 3 steps in registering. After you enter your info in step 1, you’ll be directed to set your goal in step 2. At the bottom of the step 2 page, you’ll see a long red rectangle that includes a link to the coupon that says “Thanks for joining the challenge. Here’s a coupon to get you to the table.” It will print a Bricks coupon as soon as you click on that link. (If you go on to page 3, there won’t be a link for the coupon at the end).

How do you print your coupons?
What print setting do you use? Picture, draft, text…?
Do you print at a reduced size? What % do you print at?
Do they scan properly in the self scan lanes?
I cut my paper in half and print on draft @ 68%. They don’t scan at the self scan lanes but the cashiers can scan them at their station and at the regular checkout lanes. I’m wondering whether it’s the size I print at, the setting or if my printer just prints the lines too blurry?!

I went to Meijer today and did a combination of Cinnabon and Poptarts to get the $10 catalina, so I ended up paying around $2.75 for 6 boxes of cereal and 4 boxes of Poptarts! Then, I saw the Kellogg’s Pops Mix Its in a display for .99, so I bought 10 of those and still got the $10 cat!! So they ended up being a .10 moneymaker!! I plan on going back a couple more times this week for more! I just want to say I use your site all the time for the Kroger and Meijer matchups and don’t know WHAT I would do without you!! Kristin – did you ask an employee? At the Jackson Meijer, I knew I had seen them in the aisle earlier last week, but they weren’t out yesterday. I asked an employee and she said the manager had pulled the display and put it in the stockroom but she didn’t know why (I decided not to tell her it was probably because they were giving them away for “free” with the CAT deal, but that’s just my assumption!). Anyways, she was so tired of customers asking for them, that she said “To heck with it, I’m pulling it back out on the floor!” so she walked to the stockroom and pulled the whole pallet out!
You might try asking an employee to see if they’re in the back? HTH!
That was my experience as well. I had been buying them all week then went back on Saturday to get them and they were pulled in the back. I spoke with a floor manager and he was very excited to give me as many cases as I could handle. He said they hadn’t been moving very well and was wondering why he knew nothing about the promotion. He agreed that they would be flying off the shelves if people knew about it. Good luck!
I bought the 5 Kraft cheeses again today & the cat didn’t print. I went to the service desk & she scoured the current ad and said “it’s not in thereâ€, called grocery & they knew nothing about it, said “there was no signâ€. The last 2x I did this deal there was NEVER a sign about it!
I get so aggravated because the service desk never has a list of current catalina promos like Kroger does. The manager told me that the deal was last week because the ad changes weekly, which told me right there that she had no clue about catalina dates. Although, she did write me up a cat because I took the trouble to go up there. Sigh, ugh!
there is a catalina list in the computer …its complicated to use and not everyone knows how to use it properly.

Here’s an idea for the $10 off 10 boxes Kelloggs/Keebler/etc.. IF your Meijer has the Wheatable crackers with the peelies for FREE Nutcrisps. Buy 5 Wheatables – Use peelies to get 5 FREE Nutcrisps and get a $10 OYNO catalina. My Meijer price on the Wheatables is $3.69 (which is insane) but with the promos they would be $0.85/ box. Not as good as you could get them when they first came out, but a decent price if you love them as much as we do. 🙂
Jolyn, I am hoping you can help me. I am new at this but was VERY excited to give it a try today. I got $10 worth of Kellogg’s items, 20 Kool-aid envelopes, 4 boxes of 100 calorie snacks and 4 boxes of Betty Crocker fruit roll-ups and I got…nothing. I asked the cashier about the catalinas and she told me to show her a sign (she was kind of rude). I then went up to customer service and they were no help. They kept telling me I was thinking of the $10 off Hanes promotion (which I used last week). I finally got so frusterated I returned everything. What did I do wrong???!
You were right in thinking the Kellogg’s promotion is still valid through this week. However, you need to purchase 10 total Kellogg’s items to get the $10 Kellogg’s Catalina. As for the 100 Calorie Pack and Roll-Ups Catalinas, I’m not exactly sure what happened -those should have printed. Did you receive any checkout coupons at all? Is it possible the machine wasn’t working/printing? Sorry for the hassle – I would have returned the items, too. 🙁
A trick you can do at the self check out or ask the cashier to do (which I’ve done.) Is pay $.01, once you pay the cats will print… if they don’t I ask the cashier to take off the items. I do this before giving them my coupons! This is also a good way to remind yourself to check the green light on the cat machine as they often are out of paper, or jammed!
Katie- it is 10 kelloggs products- not $10 worth. Not sure why the cat didn’t print- maybe those kelloggs products aren’t included? It has worked fine for me all week. Good luck!

After the survey, you’ll get the opportunity to print $0.75/1 coupons. I haven’t printed them yet, so I don’t know if you can print 2.
I actually did this survey earlier. You can print the coupon twice. If you answer ‘yes, I’ve bought before’ you will get a 50 cent coupon (doubles!!) which can be printed twice. Then go back and do the survey again and click ‘no, have not bought before’ and get a 75 cent coupon which can be printed twice.

Do the Catalina coupons that print out at the end of the transaction count as Meijer store coupons or manufacture’s coupons? I have one for the Kikkoman marinades from Meijer and was wondering if I could use it in combination with the manufacture’s coupon.
Both store and manufacturer coupons can print from the Catalina machine, so you’ll need to check it carefully. It should say either “store coupon” or “manufacturer coupon” across the top. If there’s a redemption address where the coupon should be sent, then you’ll also know it’s a manufacturer coupon. I’m guessing the Kikkoman is a manu. coupon – Meijer store coupons are usually $5 off a $50 order or $1.75 off 3 cereals, etc., rather than one specific name-brand product. If it is a manu. coupon, you can’t combine it with another manu. coupon on the same item. If it’s a store coupon, it can be combined with a manu. coupon. Hope that helps!

Ok problem with Stouffers Coupon at Rochester Meijer on Auburn. Bought 3 dinners at 1.88 a piece but the dollar coupon wasn’t scanning because it says 1.00 off per Entree. The manager said it has to say “Entree” on it and the ones I bought didn’t say Entree on it. Took them forever to figure out the problem.
Here is an update for this post. I went back to Rochester Meijer Auburn Rd yesterday and in fact it is the Meijer coupon $2/3 that would not scan correctly. I also noticed that none of the Stouffers boxes said “Entree” no matter what size it was. So the head cashier/mngr was dead wrong on that one.
Same thing happened to me with the $2/3 Meijer coupon. I told the cashier not to worry about it that I would get it straightened out at the service desk. She’s a sweet lady and I know I didn’t want to hassle her. She in the end said “you know what I’ll just put it through. I know you and you’re not trying to be dishonest and they’ll just wonder why I sent you over there with this 1 coupon and why I didn’t put it through. It’s not a problem. I’ll just do it” So today I have 3 more and am just nervous about using this $2/3 cpn again ..I bought the Large Boxes (Not the really big boxes) of Lasagna. This is a legitimate coupon for the items isn’t it? I thought so when I looked at them all and read them all.
Yes it is a legitimate coupon for the items. Just when you do see them scan the $2/3 make sure to tell them it didn’t scan because the cashier won’t even notice that it didn’t scan. I’m gonna go buy 3 more here in a little bit.
Does anyone know if the Catalina deals are good at the Meijers on the Western side on the state? My daughter who lives in Kalamazoo tried the Kelloggs deal today and did not get a Catalina coupon. The service desk knew nothing about it.

The Kellogg’s Catalina offer should be printing at ALL Meijer stores, West Michigan included. Were all of your Kellogg’s cereals 10 oz or greater?
The Catalina offers for the most part are kept pretty quiet – most likely because if everyone knew about the deal, everyone would do it. Occasionally, the promotions are listed in the ad or announced with a sign in the store. However, most of the time, shoppers receive notices of upcoming Catalina promotions along with their receipt – and they’re kind enough to share them with the rest of us. The system is a little bit underground, but it’s helpful when we all share the information we receive.
That being said, you can contact Catalina Marketing directly at 1-888-8COUPON with your receipt to see if they can help you find the problem – or reimburse you accordingly.

Catalina Marketing might be more helpful, since you’ve already left the store. Call 1-888-8COUPON with your receipt and they should be able to assist you.

The Meijer at Cass/Groesbeck had some sweet moments desserts on clearance yesterday because of the use by date, but I didn’t have my coupons for those with me. I went back today and there was only one left, but I did get it after the coupon for .25. You might be on the lookout for those at other Meijers too.

I used several coupons at meijers today and was so excited about the awesome deals. I did one senario with Kellogg among other things. When I got home I exammed my recipet, because the total seemed a little high, turns out, the cashier missed a few of my coupons!! I KNOW how many coupons I handed her (25) and she only scanned 16! Okay, I learned my lesson-that is too many coupons for 1 cashier to handle… but what do I do? The total of the coupons that were not scanned is $9. I tried to call Meijer, spoke with 2 people, they transfered me to a manager and the phone just rang and rang, no manager ever picked up. I will try to call again. Could they even help me? What do I do? I’m so upset, I was so excited, but to have over spent $9, because cashier didn’t scan all coupons?! Ahhh!
Update: I called Meijer back and was able to talk to a manager, she told me to come in and go to the service desk and tell them which coupons were not scanned and they would take care of me. I went in and told the customer service employee and she gave me cash back for the amount of the unscanned coupons!!! I was shocked and very satisfied! Plus, I learned my lesson-don’t try to use 25 coupons in 1 transaction-cashiers are overwhelmed!!
