UPDATE: All Catalinas for the scenario below were printing as expected yesterday. However, I tried purchasing 8 boxes of Crayola 24 ct Crayons this morning (and using a previous $4 School Supplies Catalina to pay) and no Catalina coupon printed (though the machine was working). It seems to be working for those who aren’t spending an identical Catalina coupon, but please proceed with this deal at your own risk!
Kathy shared this amazing scenario that she did at Kroger yesterday. It’s valid through Sunday and I thought you might like to know about it! Even if your family doesn’t eat this cereal, you’re getting milk at a great price – and crayons and cereal make great charitable donations!
Here are the items she purchased with details (look below for the scenario):
$2.50 Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal, 11.8 oz
-$1.00/2 General Mills Cereals printable coupon, use 2
-$0.55/1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch digital coupon (load to your Kroger card)
$1.86 each when you buy 4 with coupons
BONUS: Buy 4 General Mills Cereals in one transaction, get a $4.00 checkout coupon valid on your next order. Participating varieties include Chocolate Cheerios 11.25 oz, Cinnamon Toast Crunch 11.8 oz, Cookie Crisp 11.25 oz, FiberOne 11.1 oz or 16.2 oz, FiberOne Honey Cluster 14.25 oz, Golden Grahams 12 oz, Honey Nut Chex 13.8 oz, Lucky Charms 16 oz, Multi Grain Cheerios 16.2 oz, Total 10.6 oz, 18.25 oz, Trix 10.7 oz and Wheaties Fuel 17.1 oz (7/12-8/8). Thanks, Coley!
BONUS: Buy 4 participating General Mills Cereal (9-16 oz select varieties; Cinnamon Toast Crunch is included) in one transaction, get 2 FREE Gallons of Kroger Milk instantly at the register (as shown in this week’s Kroger ad).
$0.25 Crayola 24 ct Crayons
BONUS: Buy 8 or more in one order, get a $4.00 checkout coupon valid on your next order. (Note that this offer will continue through August 21! Thanks, Emily!)
KATHY’S SCENARIO
BUY (4) Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal @ $2.50 = $10.00
         (2) Gallons Kroger Milk (any variety including chocolate)
          (8) Crayola 24 ct Crayons @ $0.25 = $2.00
Use (2)Â $1.00/2 General Mills Cereals printable coupons = ($2.00)
Use (1)Â $0.55/1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch digital coupon ($0.55)
Pay $9.45 at the register, then get $8.00 in checkout coupons to use on your next purchase.
- Receive one $4.00 General Mills checkout coupon valid on your next order (from your cereal purchase).
- Receive one $4.00 Kroger checkout coupon valid on your next order (from your crayon purchase).
Final cost for all 14 items: $1.45!!!
Note: The cost of the Kroger gallon milk (2 @ $1.99 each) should deduct instantly at the register before your total is calculated. If not, alert your cashier before paying and point it out in the store ad if necessary.
And, in case you need it, here’s what to do When a Catalina Doesn’t Print.
Carrie from Oikology101 says
I thought I read the GM catalina was turned off. I did the four boxes of GM on Thursday, but didn’t get a catalina. I think I should try it again if the catalina is confirmed to be printing!!
Jolyn says
As far as I know, the GM Catalina has not been turned off. Every other cereal in the FREE Milk promotion doesn’t correspond with the Catalina deal, however. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the only cereal participating in both offers. Kathy confirmed the scenario yesterday and received the Catalinas as stated above.
Which 4 GM cereals did you buy this week? Were they participating sizes/brands? Participating varieties include Chocolate Cheerios 11.25 oz, Cinnamon Toast Crunch 11.8 oz, Cookie Crisp 11.25 oz, FiberOne 11.1 oz or 16.2 oz, FiberOne Honey Cluster 14.25 oz, Golden Grahams 12 oz, Honey Nut Chex 13.8 oz, Lucky Charms 16 oz, Multi Grain Cheerios 16.2 oz, Total 10.6 oz, 18.25 oz, Trix 10.7 oz and Wheaties Fuel 17.1 oz

Do we know if either of these roll? I have a 2.00 and 4.00 catalina from the pens and crayons deals and just wondering if I could use them up and still get the new 4.00 catalina from the crayons…
Thanks!
Jolyn says
Crayola Catalina was just CONFIRMED as rolling (you can thank my dear husband)! Haven’t tried the General Mills Catalina, so if anyone else has info on that, please share!
Coley says
Slightly higher ($1.47) but, less OOP if you split it into two deals:
1) Buy 8 crayons = $2.00
Pay $2.12 with tax – Get $4 OYNO
2) Buy 4 Cinnamon Toast Crunch = $10.00 + 2 free milks
Use 2 $1/2 and $0.55/1 e-coupon and $4 OYNO
Pay = $3.45, get $4 OYNO
Total OOP = $5.47-$4 OYNO = $1.47
Jennifer says
Awesome Deal! Thanks!
Sarah says
My ad does not show anything about free milk… any idea if that deal is regional?
Jolyn says
Kroger ads can be regional. If you’re in Michigan, it should be valid – the ad could be different for other states, though. In my ad ( zip 48044), it’s on the flap that covers the front page. You’ll want to double check!
Sarah says
May just be in Michigan. I’m in Ohio and our flap shows a 4 day 50% off sale for GM cereals & such. The catalina should still work though, right?
Jolyn says
You’re right – we don’t have that 50% off GM cereals offer here. 🙁 If I were you, I’d take a close look at the participating cereals in the Catalina offer above, use your GM coupons (load some e-coupons, too) and the sale prices and come out with a good deal!
Melissa says
Just got back from Kroger, both Catalina’s printed out for me!! Thanks so much!!
Sherri says
The Kroger milk deal isn’t in Indianapolis.
Debby says
The free milk is NOT going in Indy
and I bought 8 boxes of crayons and only got a 2.00 catalina – wonder what i did wrong……
Jolyn says
Is it possible that the regular price of the crayons is different for you? At our stores, the 24 pk crayons are valued at $2.69 regular price – the Catalina machine sees the purchase of 8 as $21.52 and triggers a $4.00 Catalina for spending $20 or more on participating school supplies. But if the regular price at your store (check your receipt) is $2.49, that would only make $19.92 and you’d need to buy 9 to trigger a $4.00 Catalina instead. Hope that helps!
Debby says
ahhhh yes the crayons were regular priced at 1.94
thanks for the info!
Jennifer says
I have a question about the electronic coupons. If I buy the 4 boxes of cinnamon toast crunch and have 3 electronic coupons for 55 cents off one box – one from cellfire, one from shortcuts and one from the kroger website – will it take all 3 off the total since I’m buying 4 boxes? That would make this deal even sweeter with another $1.10 taken off the total. Great website! Thank you for all your hard work!
Jolyn says
I believe that the computer will choose ONE e-coupon to deduct on your order, as far as I know. But if you try it, let us know what happens!
Frank aka Forty-Something Bachelor says
The system will only allow you to load one of the coupons at a time as far as I have seen. The Kroger system wouldn’t allow me to load the duplicate e-coupon from Cellfire or Shortcuts.
Maybe after using the one I have on there I can then load it from CF or SC. I will let you know.
Jennifer says
This is the first chance I have had to get back on here since I got back from the store today – I know the cereal / milk deal ends in just a couple hours, but I still wanted to respond back about the e-coupons. The 3 websites – cellfire, shortcuts and kroger’s direct website – each let me load a 55 cent coupon onto my kroger card, so technically I had 3 e-coupons. I bought 4 boxes of cereal. Both the cellfire and shortcuts e-coupons came off my bill, but the Kroger e-coupon did not. So Kroger would not take off its own e-coupon when another e-coupon was already deducted through cellfire / shortcuts – but both cellfire and shortcuts came off for me since I purchased multiple products. Can’t guarantee it will work everytime of course . . . Thanks again for your great blog! You save me so much time and money when I’m planning my grocery trips!!
patti says
I didn’t get a catalina from the milk-cereal offer but my rcpt shows the $4 was taken off this order and I got another $6 off too. I also got 2 gals milk free. I bought 2 boxes multgr cheerios,1 cinatoast crunch and 1 capn crunch. I don’t know how I got an addtl $6 off but am v. happy about it.
Jolyn says
Kroger is making some changes in the way they provide coupons to customers with registered Kroger shopper’s cards. They send coupons in the mail, but plan to move their offered coupons to an e-coupon system. You (like many others) had an unexpected e-coupon added to your Kroger card as a reward for being a registered Kroger shopper. I had a $5 e-coupon waiting for me (though it deducted as $4 when I purchased the above scenario items). Hope that sheds some light on it for you!
(And you didn’t get the cereal Catalina offer because that’s only valid when you buy Cinnamon Toast Crunch in this case).
Emily says
I just bought 3 crayola classic 10ct markers and 4 boxes of crayons for $4
got a $4 oyno. Not a money maker but I dont know where else to get free
markers. The markers are reg 3.79.
Melissa says
Is the crayon oyno order a seperate oyno from the buy so much in school supplies get so much on your next order ?
Jolyn says
No, it’s the same offer.
Cathy says
I tried the crayon and the cinnamon toast cereal deal at the Kroger store in New Baltimore and didn’t get any of the catalina coupons. What a bummer! I’m going to return the crayons but keep the cereal and free milk. Too bad.
Stacy says
Just left kroger in the cinti market this scenario the 12.8 cin toast crunch rang 3.69 bought 4 the milk rang 2.49 bought two hit total milk went down 2.29 this didnt work at all after speaking to three managers they have no knowledge how to check what current catalina promotions are in effect in their store ..seems there is no checks and balances how would a consumer check if there store is offering the same as reported on here???confused
stacy says
Joylin could u please help me understand the catalina issue i had on sunday with the milk….confused
Jolyn says
Where are you located, Stacy? Cincinnati? If you’re outside Michigan, it’s possible that the free milk offer wasn’t available in your area or listed in your ad. Did you get 11.8 oz or 12.8 oz boxes?
Kroger store managers MAY sometimes have a list of current Catalina promotions, but many have very little idea about the Catalina system (this is the case at most stores, as the promotions are kept somewhat secret).
Did you end up returning the items? If you still have your receipt and you kept the items, you can call Catalina Marketing at 1-888-8COUPON. They should be able to offer you your Catalina savings if you purchased participating items. Hope that helps!
stacy says
ty i ask the managers for a # for catalina they stated they didnt have one they could give me that in its self will be helpful
Alison says
Went to Kroger…found 2 boxes of 12.8 oz Cin Crunch (there was no 11.8 oz anywhere) then another lady snatched up the last 4 boxes that were located nearby…so i couldn’t get the $4 back. I hate it when Kroger is out of stock- happens EVERY time.
Denise Kott says
I went and bought a few sets of the crayons I ended up spending a total of $8.48 and I still have $8.00 to spend on my next order, YAY!!!!! thanks so much for this website, I LOVE it!!!!
cheyenne says
Westland Kroger crayon cats are printing fine…although I did not trry to roll them…I will go again tomorrow, my church is going to love me for all the crayons I am going to give!!!
dave says
is the best possible scenario expired or are there parts of it that still work out?
Jolyn says
All of the cereal/milk offer is expired, including the checkout coupon. The crayon offer is still valid, though the Catalina may be printing a little sporadically, depending on regular price at your store (your order needs to total over $20 of crayons at regular price).
dave says
i understand that the free milk part of the scenario is expired – is the $4.00 catalina for the cereal purchase still working and does it roll?
Jolyn says
No, the GM Cereals Catalina offer expired August 8.
