*DOUBLE COUPONS – This deal requires a coupon to DOUBLE at Meijer. Note that Metro Detroit Meijer stores will double only 2 identical coupons (up to $0.50) per transaction. See additional notes below.

MEIJER COUPON POLICY

View Meijer’s official coupon policy online here.

  • Metro Detroit Meijer stores will double manufacturer coupons up to $0.50, but no more than 2 identical coupons per transaction. Additional identical coupons and any store coupons will be redeemed at face value. You may want to call your location before shopping to verify. For best savings on multiple items with coupons that will double, divide your order into multiple transactions (this is most easily done at the U-scan).
  • You can print 2 copies of each printable coupon per computer, with some exceptions. Use your back button and refresh the screen if necessary or return to the original coupon link. There is no limit on the amount of Meijer Mealbox store coupons you may print.
  • When a particular advertised sale item is out of stock, be sure to ask your cashier or a customer service assistant for a raincheck.

MEIJER MEALBOX STORE COUPONS

You may want to print a copy of the Meijer Mealbox store policy and keep it with your shopping list to show your cashier (in case they aren’t familiar with corporate policy):

1.) Mealbox coupons may be used in addition to manufacturer coupons.

2.) Mealbox coupons may be used each time a condition is met, which could be multiple times per transaction. (For example: a coupon for $1.00 off 2 soups can be used multiple times if you have a coupon printed and the number of soups purchased matches, i.e. 2 coupons = 4 soups.)

3.) Mealbox coupons cannot be doubled or tripled at any time.

4.) Stores have the right to limit the quantity of items to normal retail purchases per transaction.

  12. LeAnn says

    April 9, 2010 at 2:05 PM

Ashley, I used a $20 catalina from a script and then they gave me a coupon to get a $10 catalina if I took in another prescription. As it just so happened I did need another filled so I did get $30 off my groceries. After that I was given another coupon if took in yet another prescription then I’ll get a $10 catalina. Hopefully they’ll give you the same deal. My groceries with the $30 prescription transfer catalinas and coupons came to $8.50 with $5 catalinas to go with that. Before coupons it was $96. That was definately my best week yet.

    • ashley says

      April 9, 2010 at 2:31 PM

      @LeAnn,

Yeah, my husband actually needed a script too. So I have two $20 script transfers and several of the $10 if you refill it here. Keep them coming! I’m loving it.

  14. Heidi says

    April 9, 2010 at 2:25 PM

I saw that the 100 calorie packs are on sale this week for $2.50 – and if you pair it up with the catalina promo of buy 3, get $3.00 that works out to be $1.50/box. (2.50×3 = 7.50 – 3.00 cat = 4.50 / 3 = 1.50)

    • Heidi says

      April 9, 2010 at 9:21 PM

      @Heidi,
Oh, and I just saw that the $1/2 Mealbox coupon for 100 cal packs is still valid too so the pricing is even better…

Quick question? Does anyone else struggle to use all the steamers coupons together? Mine seems to be very picky about only using three like coupons. They will not let me use more than three like coupons (even if they just don’t double them). Just curious. I love the frozen broccoli!

@ashley, I just do multiple transactions so I don’t have that problem. For the steamers Qs, it’s worth it. I love both the frozen broccoli and the green beans :)!

Can someone explain to me what it means to “roll” a catalina.

    • Chris says

      April 10, 2010 at 9:14 AM

@Mariann, That’s when you use the catalina from a previous transaction to purchase items from the same promotion and still generate a catalina. A lot of times, when you try that, another catalina won’t print.

  22. Dorothy says

There is a $1/1 Cafe Steamers in the Con Agra booklet. If you use two $1/2 Qs from the 3-28SS plus the $1/1 from the Con Agra booklet, you only have to buy the required 5 to get the $2 OYNO catalina, rather than 6.

Meijer is catching on 🙁 The cottage cheese catalina most likely will *not* roll. I didn’t try a second transaction, but the $3 catalina coupon reads “additional coupon will not print when this coupon is redeemed in the same transaction.”

My add has All 100oz for $6.49 and you get a free 32oz Snuggle. Can I use $1 off All and $3 off Snuggle for this since the Snuggle is free? If so that would be $2.49 for both items. I think that would be a great deal if I could use both Qs.

    • Jolyn says

      April 11, 2010 at 2:21 PM

Generally, Meijer computers will not deduct any additional savings on an item that rings up FREE (like the Snuggle). It’s possible that the coupon will be accepted and scan properly, but that nothing will be deducted from your total. If you try it, please let us know what you find!

      • Deb says

        April 11, 2010 at 2:40 PM

@Jolyn, I tried this with the Pompeian Olive Oil last week when it was buy one, get another free. My 2nd coupon scanned “0”, so I lost a coupon, but it was worth trying it for future reference. The Meijer computer will NOT give you credit on a “free” item. Don’t waste your $3 Snuggle coupon.

  30. Carla says

    April 11, 2010 at 4:59 PM

Thanks Deb for sharing your experience; the $3 coupon is not one I’m willing to loose so I won’t risk it. Guess I’ll use some of them at Walgreens this week and pay the .99 for my Snuggle.

  31. Melanie says

    April 11, 2010 at 5:46 PM

This is all new to me and I noticed over the weekend that one of my catalinas wasn’t deducted from the total. I made the mistake of walking away from the register before realizing this. The cashier scanned it in but didn’t tell me that it wasn’t accepted. Why wouldn’t they tell you that coupon can’t be used instead of taking it for no reason? It was a $3.50 off $7 bread aisle purchase. The Meijer I shopped at had cookies on the break aisle, so with those, I met the $7 requirement in my mind. Again, I am a newbie, so I guess I will learn from my mistakes.

    • Jolyn says

      April 11, 2010 at 8:46 PM

Melanie, most of what I’ve learned comes from making mistakes! 🙂 The cashier probably only noticed that it scanned and didn’t give a prompt – they aren’t as concerned with your total and won’t watch that. If possible, you’ll need to verify that coupons scan correctly. And those store catalinas can be picky – only breads would likely apply.

If you’re still frustrated by this, I’d encourage you to take the time to contact your store manager by phone or email and explain the situation. Perhaps there’s something a manager can do to help.

      • Mary B says

        April 12, 2010 at 8:34 AM

@Jolyn, you may also want to double check your receipt – I think these store coupons come off as line items deducted under the eligible item rather than at the bottom of your bill. Good Luck!

        • Cheryl says

          April 12, 2010 at 4:39 PM

          @Mary B,

this happened to me at Meijer once with meat. The cashier couldn’t get my chicken to scan so she manually put it in. The catalina didn’t recognize it so it didn’t deduct my $3.00. I went to customer service and after about 10 minutes of “discussion” they refunded my $3.00.

    April 11, 2010 at 8:50 PM

About the snuggle/all deal: my Meijer took both coupons–I had a $2off All and $3 off Snuggle, no beeps at the register. I ended up getting both for $2!!! I did it three times all in the same transaction. I think my Meijer is an anomaly though because there is not a coupon double limit either (they double as many of the same coupons as I use in one transaction).

I’m having similar problems as Melanie with cashiers taking coupons that didn’t work. When you have to load your own groceries into your cart, it is so hard to watch carefully as they are scanning coupons, especially with a child or two with you. Does anyone have any suggestions? I counted up my coupon savings when I got home last night and somehow $2 in coupons did not get deducted, and I have no idea which product/coupon didn’t work. I’d love to learn from my mistakes, but I can’t figure out what I did wrong. Thanks!

    • Mary B says

      April 12, 2010 at 8:42 AM

@Anne, Hi Anne – Many times I have buckled both kids in carseats before realizing a mistake – so frustrating! Now, I take a list of items and their coupon values with me & I compare to my receipt while the kids ride the horsey!(I love Sandy!) If there’s a problem, I head to the service desk right then & it gets fixed.

      • Anne says

        April 12, 2010 at 9:10 AM

The horsey is a great idea! Thanks! I will try that next time. And the list of coupons too! I was wondering if anyone did that, because that is what you really need to double-check.

        One more question…
The Meijer mealbox coupons are shown on your receipt just after the product whereas the manufacturer’s coupons and catalina deductions are shown at the end, right?

        • Mary B says

          April 12, 2010 at 10:16 PM

@Anne, I checked my receipts to be sure & yes – mealbox coupons are deducted directly under the corresponding item. 🙂

Does anyone know if you use a Different catalina… say you use the catalina from the Pillsbury deal to pay for the Cottage Cheese. Will the Cottage cheese catalina print? Then you could alternate between the 2 deals. (Until you run out of Pillsbury coupons 🙂 )

    • Jolyn says

      April 12, 2010 at 9:39 AM

Yes, you CAN alternate between Catalina offers as you suggested – using the Pillsbury Catalina to pay for your Breakstone’s Cottage Cheese, etc.

  38. Colleen says

    April 12, 2010 at 9:26 AM

I started using the Uscan so I could watch my coupons come off the total and stop if there was a problem. That way I don’t have to worry about watching the total and trying to load groceries at the same time.

Usually I don’t buy much at a time, so I can keep a running track of my coupons and their worth in my head. I did have trouble once with coupons not coming off in a cashier line and customer service told me they wouldn’t reimburse me because there was no way to prove that I had those coupons. Someone said they had the same problem and now they initial the backs of their coupons in case it ever happened to them again.

Ronzoni Healthy Harvest was also on sale at my Meijer, so I used 2 of each of the coupons on the website and bought 6 boxes of pasta, 2 of the Smart Taste and 4 Healthy Harvest. I’m not sure if this was just my Meijer, but we love both of these pastas, so I figured it was a good time to stock up.

Also, I wanted to add a recipe I make frequently using penne pasta, I’ve been making it for years and my family loves it! I’ve stocked up on the sausage and cheese when it’s on sale and bought pasta this week, making it a very inexpensive meal!

    Sausage Penne Casserole
    3 cups penne pasta
    1/4 cup butter or margarine
    1/3 cup flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 garlic cloves, chopped (I buy the cans of chopped or minced garlic instead)
    3 cups milk
    2 cups italian cheese
    1/2 cup parmesan
Smoked sausage – cut into bite-sized pieces (I use a turkey sausage to make it healthier)

Cook and drain pasta. Melt the butter in a pan and stir in the flour, salt, pepper, garlic and italian seasoning. Slowly add the milk to the mixture and heat to a boil, stirring constantly. Let it cook for several minutes until the mixture begins to thicken. Turn down the heat and add the cheeses and stir until melted. Add pasta and sausage, and put in a casserole dish. Sprinkle with parmesan and italian seasoning and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

I just got back from Meijer. I had 26 coupons. They were all legit and for items I purchased. Not one of them beeped. I went to a cashier whom I always see working there b/c I thought he would make sure to scan all my coupons correctly. Well, when I set them down he looked at them and made a huffy puffy noise.. But when he was done scanning them all, he said “Oh that’s discusting, that’s really discusting.” He said it somewhat under his breath, but my husband and I both heard him. Like I was trying to steal or something. I was kind of in shock so I didn’t say anything. There wasn’t even a long line behind me, just one other person and I had my 2 and 3 year old with me. I am really offended that someone would say that about me using coupons legitly to save my family money. Most of them were from the Sunday paper. The ones that were printed were in color, so obviously were not scanned copies or anything. I want to email Meijer and complain, but I doubt they’d do anything, and since I always shop there I don’t want to be looked at as a trouble maker or stand out in a negative way.

      Christina,
I’m so sorry to hear you were treated this way. Your receipt should list your cashier by name. I’d highly recommend calling (during weekday business hours) and asking to speak to a manager. Explain how you were treated and let him specifically know the cashier’s name. As a valued customer (whether you use coupons or not), you should never be treated as ANYTHING less. Corporate may not respond if you email, but it’s worth completing the survey at the bottom of your receipt. Managers (and corporate) need to know if/when coupon-using shoppers are treated poorly. This shouldn’t single you out at all. When I get a fantastic cashier, I make sure to complete the survey and commend them by name as well. Let us know if you’re able to get this resolved at all.
