Restaurant.com certificates make great gifts – and they’re a great way to save a little money on eating out, but please read all of the restrictions and fine print carefully. Many certificates will work more like a coupon (and some require strict minimum totals, beverage purchases or days of use).
If you’ve used Restaurant.com certificates before, we’d love to hear your local restaurant recommendations!

A group of us were going out to Joey’s Comedy Club in Livonia. They have a restaurant/bar in the same complex where we were going to meet beforehand. I purchased a $25 gift certificate for Kickers the day before for $2!! Saved $23 that I would have spent otherwise. Great experience for me – I would definitely buy them again.

I’ve been to several:
Black Lotus, Clawson: Brewpub, makes their own beer. The beers are great (if you’re into microbrews/brewpubs!) I had the Lotus Burger and it was awesome! I don’t remember what hubby had last time we were there but he enjoyed it too. Nice staff, had our 1-year old with us and our waitress went gaga over him (they usually do though, he’s a flirt!)
Can get busy on Fri/Sat nights.
Claddagh Irish Pub, Livonia: Nice place, cool setting and good food.
Dick O Dow’s, Birmingham: Haven’t been there in a couple years, but it’s a great pub. Really busy on Fri and Sat dinner. Nice selection of beer, good food. The Boxty is one of my favorite things to get there.
Memphis Smoke, Royal Oak: Good ribs, one of the better bbq sauces in the area (imho). Bands usually on the weekend, can get loud.
Woody’s Diner, Royal Oak: Went a couple years back, food was good.
Rochester Mills, Rochester: They make their own beers, most are pretty good. Good food.
Copper Canyon, Southfield: went there over 5 years ago. Another place that makes their own beer, but we weren’t really impressed with the beer, the food was ok.

They don’t always have these certificates available, but if you can get certificates for Big Al’s Firehouse (Shelby Twp) or Loon River Cafe, both of those are very good restaurants!
And I second the recommendation for Rochester Mills… they have excellent food.
