There’s a reason why many schools and teachers specifically request Dixon Ticonderoga pencils on school supply lists. They’re simply better. Ticonderoga pencils are tougher and stronger – they sharpen well and last longer than other pencils.
I love a cute and colorful pencil as much as the next teacher, but many times I have sharpened a student’s new pencil down to almost nothing because the lead keeps breaking or it won’t sharpen evenly so that you can use it to write.
While I’m not eager to begin thinking about back to school during the first week of our summer vacation, I also know that good pencils aren’t cheap – and that now just might be the best time to buy. Whenever you can get quality name brand pencils under 10¢ each, you want to make sure you’ll have what you need for the year ahead!
