Many Farmers Markets are already open for business (you’ll want to visit their websites or call ahead to be sure)! You can find many wonderful Farmers Markets around the metro Detroit area with great products to offer at harvest time. Check one out – they’re a great way to get fresh produce at fair prices while supporting Michigan growers!

The Detroit’s Eastern Farmer’s Market is large and most of it is newly renovated. If you use a bridge card you can go to the welcome center which is located in the middle of the market, and you can get tokens for use in the market.

I began volunteering at a local farmers market this year and I learned something I had to share.
People who have bridge cards can double their food at farmers markets beginning June 1. So for example , if you want $10 taken off your bridge card, you will receive $10 in bridge card tokens and $10 in double up food bucks tokens.
But take note, double up food bucks tokens can only be used on fresh produce, vegetables plants and few other items. They can not be used on bread or other non produce items.
You still can use your bridge card tokens on everything else that the bridge card will allow.
See the website below or ask the people at the farmers market about this program,
