Big news for ALDI shoppers! ALDI now accepts credit cards!
The previously accepted methods of payment are listed on the ALDI website. Cash, debit cards and EBT used to be the only acceptable forms of payment, which made it challenging for some shoppers:
Q. What forms of payment are accepted at ALDI stores?
A. We accept cash, PIN-based debit cards, the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) and Link cards. At this time, we do not accept checks, credit cards or the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC).
But that’s about to change! In the past, ALDI restricted credit cards because of the additional charge to the store – one that they did NOT want to pass on to their customers. Keeping prices low is a priority at ALDI – and thankfully, that will still be the same. The use of credit cards will not affect pricing at ALDI, according to the reports I’ve heard!
Listed in this week’s ad is this important information:
We finally accept credit cards!
And Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards are shown.
Bargains to Bounty readers have shared some of the information they’ve learned:
The card readers are in place at some locations and read mine just fine. Hope the prices don’t skyrocket! (Christine)
I talked to my cashier about this. She said that the credit card companies actually wanted to have their machines installed at ALDI so badly, they waived the transaction fees. The cashier also said that ALDI believes that any increase in costs/expenses will be offset by an increased customer base and volume of sales now that they accept credit cards. (Katie)
Other recent changes ALDI has made include introducing more organic products, and removing all artificial colors, MSG and trans fats from their products.

I was excited to hear that Aldi’s is coming to lapeer. The credit card thing will make it a win win. Closest Aldi’s is 25 miles currently.

I also heard that Aldi’s coming to Lapeer. I usually have to wait to go there when I visit my sister in Shelby. Excited for this news!

Aldi stores in Indiana whose sale week starts 2/28 and ends 3/1 do not accept credit according to the last page of the weekly ad.

Check back after March 1. That was the scheduled release date, as far as I can tell.

that is great. Because my cash is not for groceries. My husband normally pays when we shop, but sometimes he isn’t with me, and I forget about cash at Aldi’s. I have been a Meijer one store shopper for over 25 years. Now that we have an Aldi’s here, and I getting acquainted with some great products , I’m loving the pricing. Thank you.
