I recently received a bottle of Kids ‘N’ Pets All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover so that I could provide my honest review.
While we don’t own pets, we do have a small houseful of mess-making children. So I put the bottle of Kids ‘N’ Pets in the closet, waiting for the next emergency, not quite sure what it would be. I can’t stand vomit – and I’m never quite sure how to best scrub it out of the carpet to avoid both the stain and the terrible odor – so I was relieved just to have a simple solution waiting nearby. If it truly did what it claims, for me it would mean peace of mind in a bottle.
Putting Kids ‘N’ Pets to the test
Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait too long to put Kids ‘N’ Pets into action. After a large money-saving grocery run, I settled the kids inside while I returned to the garage to retrieve the groceries. I picked up a gallon of milk to find a large dairy puddle underneath. A fun surprise, to say the least. After sopping up what I could of the milk, I began imagining what my entire vehicle would soon smell like (after cooking in a warm garage). I quickly read the instructions on the Kids ‘N’ Pets bottle, which said to “saturate the problem area” and let it air dry to remove the odors. I didn’t scrub, I just soaked the stain, lightly rubbed it in and let it work. It’s been over 2 weeks now – and I never have smelled one slight whiff of sour milk, nor can I find a noticeable stain. Crisis averted.
Against my better judgment, we replaced our living room carpet this past fall (we had hoped it could wait until the kids were a little older). It was a beautiful, blank canvas. So imagine my shock when I found set-in stains (presumably from a wandering 2-year-old) in my nice, new carpet. And it was the perfect opportunity to see Kids ‘N’ Pets could do.
(My apologies that the lighting was a little off in my photos!)
These were old stains (at the very least, I never saw them happen). That meant I should allow the stain treatment to work for one hour or more. Again I soaked the problem area and let it work. After about 10 minutes, I worked it in lightly with my hand. And that was it. Not only was it simple and easy, I didn’t have to scrub for hours. The stains disappeared and the smell left behind is pleasant, not at all reeking of chemicals. Now I just need to make sure I always have a bottle of KNP on hand!
