KROGER COUPON POLICY and SHOPPING TIPS
You can now view the Kroger coupon policy for Michigan online.
Please that Kroger’s coupon policy clearly states in each store ad: Limit 3 Manufacturer’s Coupons will be Doubled (up to $0.50) per Like Items Purchased.
You WILL need a Kroger card to take advantage of these offers; sign up for one at the Customer Service desk if you do not have one!
NOTE on Printable Coupons: Some Kroger stores have been denying the redemption of any printable coupon over $1, so proceed with caution when using printable coupons. You can view/print the Kroger Print-at-Home Coupon Acceptance Policy here, which does not specifically restrict the use of printables over $1.
SELECT Kroger stores outside of metro Detroit (some stores in Saginaw and Genessee counties along with the Howell location – view a full list here) will double manufacturer’s coupons with face value of up to $1.00! This can mean a great savings (and some potential free items each week). If your travels happen to take you north, check the Kroger ad (search by zip code) for the areas you’re passing through. You just might want to pack your coupons, too!
Load digital coupons to your Kroger card before you shop: visit Cellfire, P&G eSaver, Shortcuts and Kroger Digital Coupons. Each website lists the e-coupons that can be loaded onto your Kroger Card so that you can save even more! E-coupons are limited to one use per card and will NOT double. Kroger digital coupons may NOT be combined with actual paper manufacturer coupons.
This post is a proud part of Be Centsable’s Grocery Gathering.
Robin says
Looks like there are some good coupons this week 🙂
Carrie L. says
The Oral-B Indicator and cavity defense toothbrushes are still a $1 ea. till the 11th. With the $1/2 coupon that came in 10-28 P&G it makes them $.50 ea.
If you got your Kroger coupons in the mail check to see if there was a $.50 off your purchase of $2 or more of oral health products. This is a store coupon and may be able to be paired with the Oral-B toothbrush deal.
dawn says
Anyone ever had issues with Krogers not wanting to redeem a printable if it is over 70% of the value of the product being bought?? I have had issues with that at mine and got frustrated and gave up on Krogers. They seem to have some good deals this week, but not worth my time if they aren’t going to accept half my Q’s.
Heather B says
I’ve been having an issue with Kroger not accepting ANY of my printable coupons lately.
Esther a homeschool mom in Mid-Michigan says
That’s also an “unwritten” policy for the Owosso Kroger also. I’ve had problems in the past with that issue, but haven’t had any trouble recently. I guess it depends on who the cashier is and what mood they’re in 🙁 🙂
It doesn’t make much sense because I get soooo many things for free by them doubling the coupons. But, it that’s their policy, I’ll abide by it and take my coupon someplace else to redeem!
kim d. says
I was shopping the owosso kroger last week, and was told they no longer double man. q’s printed on the computer. Has anyone else heard this. It will change things up for me if this is true.
Kimmy says
I shopped last week Kim and they took mine!! Only 2 per manufacturer…Kraft, Gen Mills….etc.
tnteacher28 says
I generally have no problems in the Flint area. I think they have denied me over two printables per item twice (Grand Blanc and Bristol Rd.), but I have since shopped these stores with no problem using three printables per item. And, I was thinking this week how difficult it would be for them to deny my use of three printables that I used in the Mega Deal with a line of people behind me.
Marnie says
Fellow Owosso Kroger patrons: I have discovered that the Saginaw stores will still double printables to $1.00, AND there is no limit on the manufacturer, like they do in Owosso. It’s worth it to run to Saginaw if you’re in the area. I figured I’d do some other shopping (Christmas, son’s hair cut and new tennis shoes) while in Saginaw since there was a great deal at Kroger this week. SOOOO frustrated with all of the lame rules in Owosso!

It’s in the coupon policy (at least the copy I have, not sure how current it is) not to accept coupons that worth more then 75% of the value of the product. Yesterday I had the manager as the cashier and he really gave me grief about the $1.75 Birds Eye Viola coupon. Original price was $6 something, on sale for $4.29, and he gave me problems. Until I pointed out their policy is 75%!
Brent says
I’ve been told by my Kroger (Greenfield, IN) that they only enforce the 75% rule on internet printable coupons. YMMV I suppose. I’ve found that their system is not set-up to catch this. It’s up to the individual cashier to check and catch.

I see that the -$1.00/2 Larabar printable is a facebook coupon, but I’m having a difficult time trying to locate it on their page. Any suggestions?

How do you get Kroger coupons in the mail?
janice says
You don’t have to do anything, if you have a Kroger card they come, at least that is what happened to me.
Prue100 says
You must have your address associated with your card. If you have not signed in and registered your card, your address may not be in the system. That happened to me. You can call Customer Service and verify that your address is in the system too.

If a coupon says redeemable at Target or Walmart, will Kroger accept it?
~ Thanks
Sterling says
No one knows?? Are you able to use coupons that say “Redeemable at Walmart” or wherever, at Kroger? Or is that just on a store to store basis?
Kay says
My experience has been that it’s a store-by-store, even a cashier-by-cashier basis. The majority of the time mine are accepted at Kroger, but out of the blue once, my “redeemable at Walmart” manufacturer coupon was denied. The cashier even called over the manager at my request and she said it’s their policy not to accept ones that have other stores’ names on them, and has always been their policy, even after I pointed out that it said manufacturer, not store, coupon. (FYI, never before and never since have I ever had one denied except for that time!)
Lisa says
Kay, the same thing happened to me in Owosso. We need to call and make a complaint with a manager in the mornings. I was told they were discussing changing that policy. Maybe a few calls would help that along.
Of course it is different with every cashier. 🙁
Deb says
It said “redeemable at…” Not “Redeemable ONlY at….” So most store can take it.

The Oral B toothbrushes were not marked 10/$10 at the Swartz Creek store when I went on Monday. Not sure about anywhere else.
Jody says
I’m confused… When you say No Limit on transaction, does that mean if I buy 20 qualified items, I’ll get $10 off – or do I need to do separate transactions.
Thanks!
Jolyn says
Yes, you can do 20 at once and you’ll see two separate $5 deductions.
Jody says
Yippee! Thanks for the scoop Jolyn!
Jennifer says
You’re right. You don’t need to do separate transactions. I went last night and bought 40 items with the mix & match sale and got $20 off. Just make sure you get multiples of 10.
Kay says
I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter products are part of the Mega sale…1.99 after the $.50 savings. There is also a $1 off coupon on coupons.com. If your store doubles to a dollar, that makes it free. (I got three free sprays yesterday!) But watch out, mine didn’t automatically double, but my cashier fixed it. So heads up on that!
Michelle StJohn says

The hormel chili at the Kroger here in Texas is $1.37 before the mix & match discount. About a month ago I found a blinkie with coupons for $1 off of 2 hormel products near the chili & stocked up waiting for a sale. With the sale & the coupon I got these for .37 cents a can. I bought 30 cans of it! The vegetarian chili is something I normally buy at full price so this was an awesome deal for me.
Jennifer says
Be on the lookout for manager specials on the holy guacamole products. They have a tear pad at both of the Kroger’s here in Texas for $1 off. The manager specials are usually .99-$1.29. Last night I got 6 guacamole/salsas for free!

I paid 49 cents each for 10 packs of pampers wipes last week that would have been free this week. Hate it when that happens.

Robin, I did the same thing but i paid 79 cents per pack because my store was out of the sensitive wipes that are cheaper 🙁 oh well! I guess its better than not using the coupon at all!

I keep having trouble with things not ringing up on sale like my ICBIN butter, they only took 20 cents off and the sign said 1.99. They also are missing some of my coupons when they are scaning them and some arent doubling when they are supposed to be doubled. this has happened to me at more than one kroger…… has this happened to anyone else? I some times its just pennies but its still fusterating and i am tired of standing in the long customer service line!!

I went to the Miamisburg, OH 45342 Kroger’s on Sunday. I was only allowed to use 2 printed coupons. TOTAL! The cashier told me since I had printed all my coupons out from coupons.com, they were the SAME MANUFACTURER so I could only use 2. She was trying to tell me that the manu. ( which I thought was Pillsbury, Nabisco, Campbell’s, etc.) that they refer to in their Oct. 2011 policy means the coupon printing out company that I used. Since all my coupons had the veri-FI on the side, she said THAT was the manu. So I could only use 2!!!! I even got the manager over and she said the same thing. I explained that I had used many printed coupons since Oct 2011, and I asked if their policy had changed again. She said it should of been this way since last Oct. but that their employees didn’t understand nor enforce (for an entire year???), but were trying to crack down on it now. I was not trying to use more than 2 like printables per Kraft, Campbell’s, Nabisco, etc. This is RIDICULOUS!!! I will no longer be shopping at Kroger. I wasted 30 minutes of time printing out coupons and lost over $12 for them to tell me that coupons.com is a “manufacturer”. I understand when putting a new policy in effect it will take time for everyone involved to understand/implement that, but over a year?? Please.
Tonya says
They are mis-interpreting the policy. It seems as if each store is coming up with their own interpretation and sometimes even their own policy such as when a store will only accept two printable coupons. I am fortunate enough to have several stores to shop at so if one is being particular about a “policy” then I just go to another store. Regarding “veri-fi” as being the manufacturer, I would e-mail Kroger and let them know what transpired and how you feel this store is not applying the coupon policy correctly. Generally, I find that the customer service at Kroger.com is very attentive and helpful.

Mrs. Bairds bread is on sale for $1.50. There is a coupon on their facebook page that can be printed only on Thursdays for .55 cents off 1 making it .95 cents a loaf.

I’m really sorry to hear that you have very mis informed people working at your Kroger!! =0( I ALWAYS shop Dillons because the people are friendly and well trained. I know them very well and they are always there to greet me with a smile and help with any issue. I will even pay more for certain products just because I don’t like to “Have” to go to Walmart where they’re rude and all freaking out over a coupon. My Dillons is the BEST!! I would definately call customer support to resolve this issue as all of the dillons workers are very well trained and kroger doesn’t want people complaining or losing buisness over something like this. They will resolve it in a fair manner. Good luck!
Lynn says
if your store doubles 1.00, v8 splash juice is 1.99, so .99 after using the $1.00 off 2 coupon (printable) or in the 10/21 SS

Is there a way to select & print a list from here that I can take with me to the grocery store?

I copy the deal and paste into a word document, print it out, grab my coupons and head to the store. Hope that works for you too…fast and simple!

Is anyone else having trouble with the catalinas? I went tonight and not 1 catalina printed for me…the dove wash, the reach toothbrushes or the jello !!
Lisa says
Shirley, Same for me. I did not get the jell-o or the Dove for men cats. I looked here at what to do when they dont print and it states to go to coupon network. These are not listed there so Im not sure what we are supposed to do to get them now. ????
Emma P says
I just checked and the only offer still showing as valid is the Reach toothbrush cat – the jello and dove body wash do not appear on the list…could be a regional offer, or it may have expired. If you didn’t get a cat you think you should have, go to: http://support.catalinamarketing.com/support/did-not-receive-expected-coupon/?field26=Meijer&field27=4702%20Milan%20Rd&field28=&field29=Sandusky&field30=OH&field31=44870&field32=United%20States&field170=142&field171=46 and tell them what you think you should have gotten but did not. They will need you to upload a copy of your receipt as evidence of your purchase. If you SHOULD have gotten a cat, they will mail it you within a couple business days. I did this during the Kraft promo and received my $10 in the mail 2 days later…impressive customer service! Good luck…hope you get what you think you should have gotten.

Does anyone know if the hormel chili NO BEANS is in included in the sale this week? At my store they rang up $2.69 each… Did not catch this until I got home.
Lisa says
FYI, I did complain to the manager in Owosso tonight since they will not take a manufacturer q if it has Walmart on it. I expressed my concern about being forced to shop at Walmart or elsewhere since even Meijer is taking competitors q’s now. Stacked with mq’s can be some great deals. He said they were discussing changing that policy so he suggested to contact management in the mornings to let them know how we feel. 🙂

I am wondering where all the coupons?
Beth says
Went to the Krogers in Corunna this week and was told the new policy with digital coupons is that they will only take 2 coupons that go to the same address. This address is in small print, and is where the store must send the coupons to after we use them(example- Kellogs, Nabisco, P & G, ect.)
Even if the items are totally different, I was told I can only use two coupons a day- big BUMMER.
