Note to Bloggers: I would love for you to feature portions of this post on your blog. Please select FIVE of your favorite deals to share and include a linkback to the original post (see example). If you have questions, please contact me.
Kroger Mega Event: Buy 10, Save $5 Instantly
Save $5 instantly at checkout when you mix and match any 10 participating products with your shopper’s card! The $5.00 will deduct from your receipt; for explanation purposes, I have shown the discount below as $0.50 per item.

Kroger Catalina Promotions
Unless otherwise stated, all Catalina offers are limited to one per transaction. Read more about what to do if your Catalina coupon doesn’t print as expected.
KROGER COUPON POLICY and SHOPPING TIPS
You can now view the Kroger coupon policy for Michigan online.
Please that Kroger’s coupon policy clearly states in each store ad: Limit 3 Manufacturer’s Coupons will be Doubled (up to $0.50) per Like Items Purchased.
You WILL need a Kroger card to take advantage of these offers; sign up for one at the Customer Service desk if you do not have one!
NOTE on Printable Coupons: Some Kroger stores have been denying the redemption of any printable coupon over $1, so proceed with caution when using printable coupons. You can view/print the Kroger Print-at-Home Coupon Acceptance Policy here, which does not specifically restrict the use of printables over $1.
SELECT Kroger stores outside of metro Detroit (some stores in Saginaw and Genessee counties along with the Howell location – view a full list here or a map of stores here) will double manufacturer’s coupons up to $1.00! This can mean a great savings (and some potential free items each week). If your travels happen to take you north, check the Kroger ad (search by zip code) for the areas you’re passing through. You just might want to pack your coupons, too!
Load digital coupons to your Kroger card before you shop: visit Cellfire, P&G eSaver, Shortcuts and Kroger Digital Coupons. Each website lists the e-coupons that can be loaded onto your Kroger Card so that you can save even more! E-coupons are limited to one use per card and will NOT double. Kroger digital coupons may NOT be combined with actual paper manufacturer coupons.

Anyone have any luck finding the webber bbq sauce in Owosso? I don’t see it with the other sauces. Is it someplace else?
I don’t know about Owosso but there is only a few store that carry it in Flint . So my best guess is it not at every Kroger
Sorry I am tired It with the BBQ sause when I found it .
It is there by all the other bbq sauces but the last couple of times I went to get it, it was gone. There isn’t a very big space for it but I did get it the first time there were coupons out for it.
see about getting a range check
Howell was out for a long time they just got it back they where having a hard time getting it
The Tresemme coupon says
- save $3 on any styling product with the purchase of 2 shampoo or conditioner
Which means it doesn’t apply to this sale
I cannot get the Moms Oatmeal coupon… anyone else having any luck?
It comes to you via e-mail, if you have already gotten it you wont get it again.
Do you know when it might have reset? I know I prolly got it almost a year ago…
I’m not sure, but I think it should be .99 cents if your store doubles up to 1.00.
The stores signage states “double up to and including $1″
Heads up on the Almond Breeze- coupon says do not double so it is not free at double $1 stores!
Also- the coupon for the Motts for Tots is over.
Where on the Almond Breeze coupon does it say DND?? I read the whole thing and didn’t see it.
@Lisa….look right across the top next to the exp date….it is in a yellow box.
If I buy 20 of these items, will $10 come off at the end?
Yes – $5 will deduct twice.
HURRAY for a Kleenex sale.
Kroger in G Blanc out of kleenex someone was buying an entire cart of kleenex lol. Closeout of Eckrich Beef Sausage makes it around eighty cents with coupon.
Oh no! I was on my way to the GB Kroger, and I just saw that comment. Hopefully with it being a few days later, they will have some stock again. :/
If you missed Kleenex at Kroger, Meijer has a deal for .66/box this week.
And it continues at Kroger this week as well. Get your Kleenex now!
The Tresemme is not in the 8/12 SS. Please advise
Nature valley catalina to go w/ sale
buy 3 get $1, buy 4 get $2, buy 5 get $3
Fiber one catalina to go w/ sale
same as nature valley cat, just need to buy all fiber one
If you buy 3 w/ (3).50/1 = .66 a box after coupons and cat, or .33 a box for $1 double people since $1 cats double.
if you are a store that will let you use (4) or (5) .50 coupons
for 5 boxes its .39 a box after cats and coupons , or .49 a box for 4
I usually use the Grand Blanc Kroger and they won’t double any Catalina Coupon. I used to love the $1 OYNO Catalinas or the $1/ ? product ones but, it’s harder to find a good deal using them anymore. Does anyone know of a double dollar kroger that still doubles Catalinas?
That’s weird. Because they double a catalina I had for $.75 off of Stage 2 Gerber Baby food, a couple of nights ago. (???)
my kroger (19 schoehnerr) had the nestle pure life splas on sale 10 for 10 ($1 each) they are 6 packs. there is a coupon in either the 7/22 or 7/29 one of the red plums for .55 off 1 sot makes one pack for 45 cents!!!
im not sure if all krogers have this deal but i would definately check!
The nestle pure life splas deal is in the 7/29 Red Plum.
Bay City Kroger had it too. Free water if your store doubles!
Thanks! got it today at Kroger novi
kroger also has the bake your own tollhouse cookies in the fridge aisle with the by 10 save $5 there is a coupon from sundays paper for .75 cents off 1 they ended up being around $1.25 or so each
if your store doubles, it makes them $.50
There is also a Cataline for the Del Monte can Tomatoes. Buy 6, get $2.00 catalina. I’m not sure of any specifics, only that I saw it on another blog.
Smart Balance milk was on the 10 get $5 off sale. It was on sale for $2.49 minus the .50=$1.99 plus the $1.50 coupon from 8/05 makes it .49 each! My area didn’t get the $1.50 coupon but I ordered some from clipping service because my family loves this milk and it is usually soooo pricey.
some areas are 2.49 mega price , like jackson and I have only noticed 1.99 in other states, where are you?
I’m in Ohio- south of Dayton.
Owosso has their smart balance for $2.49 after mega deal.
Oh man….There are some awesome deals this week, but does anyone else get stressed out with these Mega Sales? Lol! I’m seriously getting a stomach ache planning out my transactions and then worrying about shelves being cleared of something tomorrow and my transactions getting screwed up. Maybe I need to take a vacation from couponing!
@Sara, Mega Sales are hard because I usually end up with say 15 or 25 items that I want and end up having to put things back. It is frustrating when the items you want the most is gone. I usually end up getting a few rain checks. On the up side, I seem to get the best deals on Mega Events. Just go with the idea that “I’ll get what I can and be grateful…..and what I can’t get, I’ll get a rain check for.” I don’t Mega Event shop when I’m in a hurry. That helps too!! Good luck this week!!
@Sara, I always pick something that’s a good price without a coupon and fill in with that at the end such as the Ronzoni. I think Pepsi 2 liters are also part of the deal. Hope that helps
I second that, I will find something that comes out cheap even without a coupon like the Pepsi or Ronzoni and add those if I need another item or 2. I know what you mean though Sara, I get kinda stressed because I work during the day so Im afraid everything is gone by the time I get there!
@Sara, I love the savings we can find in Mega Sales, but they can be a challenge. Rather than put a great priced item back because I don’t have the required number in the cart, AND because I don’t think too well on my feet, before I leave home, I’ve tried to pick out 1 or 2 lower cost ‘staple items’ that are a good/great price even without a coupon, and purchase extras of them to reach the required number. This week my go to items are the Creamette pasta and Del Monte tomatoes. Hope that run on sentence made sense.
I am so, so thankful for this sight and the stores that accept and even double (Yeeha!) all my coupons!
To help keep my son enthused, we figure out what we saved and then divide by shopping time to find our ‘per hour savings’. It has given him a huge idea of the value in his help with couponing!
This is what I do-if you pick the 10 items you want and then pick 2 more “just in case” items. Then if some of your 10 items are gone you have 2 emergency ones to fill in.
I put “filler” items on my list, too. Usually Pepperidge Farm goldfish, since my kids love them and they’re not on sale often.
Huggies wipes are part of the mega deal so $1.49 after $0.50 comes off then the coupon from Sunday’s paper will make it $0.49.
oh man I wish I would’ve checked this page before I went to meijer this morning. I just used my huggies wipes q’s.
My Ad shows Nabisco snak saks as part of the mega event for 99 cents after the 50 cents comes off, and there is a coupon in 8/5 SS for 75 off 2 packages of Nabisco cookies or crackers. This would make them 63 cents ea or 25 cents ea if your store doubles to $1 if I am doing my math correctly…
Did this work?
worked great!!
Wait! There are also $1 off of any 2 Nabisco crackers OR COOKIES coupons out there. I had two of them, not sure which paper I got them out of, but they’re out there! Ebay has them for sure. I think you can get 20 coupons for around $2 or $3 dollars (including shipping!). If you had time (and Kroger has enough stock), you’d be able to get FOURTY BAGS OF COOKIES FOR FREE!!!!!!!
The bags for sale are Mini Nutter Butters, Mini Oreos and Mini Chips Ahoy.
Kroger at 18 Mile/Dequindre is renovating. It’s open…but the shelves are a wreck! Everything is being shifted around. Hard to find the deals. Groan.
Sometimes you can find great markdowns when they’re renovating. It takes more time to find stuff but worth it!!
Does anyone know if this Mega Sale will continue through to next week?
I know that sometimes they do and the trip I was planning doesn’t seem like it is going to happen until next week. Hoping and crossing my fingers that it does!
I would assume that it does!
Johnsons baby shampoo, wash, and lotion are part of the mega event, they are $2.49 when you take off the savings, use the $.75/1 coupon and they are $1.00 if your store doubles, also Desitin is the same price and there is a $.75/1 coupon for that too.
Loving the Mega Sale! I got 4 Smart Balance milks, 4 Betty Crocker potatoes and 2 Ladies Speed Sticks for $5!!!
What is the price on the Smartbalance? I don’t see it in the matchups. TIA
2.49 mega price
Is there a limit to the groups of 10 you can do in one transaction???????
I don’t think so, I had 50 mega event items in my cart today… all one transaction and it worked out right
I had 60; no problem.
Blue Diamond Almond Breeze cpn is gone.
There is also a cpn for $1 on two quaker items floating around, bricks I think. Which makes oatmeal $1.50 each or rice cakes 50c each when you buy two. I plan on stocking up with the oatmeal for winter, very good price.
Also Kroger Pail ice cream is on sale for $3.99 and if you get the Kroger mailer there is a 60c coupon off. Not bad $3.39 for gallon of ice cream. Plus we use the pails afterwards for other storage stuff like my husband uses them to spool differant sizes of wire inside and stack them on shelves in garage with tape across the front with the sizes written on it.

found the quaker Q in the database- makes oatmeal $1 and rice cakes free if your store doubles to $1!
Bisquick Pancake Mix is included in the buy 10 get $5, sale price is 1.79, – .50 for the sale, use .50 off from coupons.com, = .29! (not sure if the boxes are included, but there is a .50 off in the GM insert for the box too.)
which Kroger was this? farmington hills (12 mi) didn’t have any Bisquick on any kind of sale…
Its 1.79 mega price in Jackson and Howell. Its by the pancake mix at my store.
Scott Extra Soft is on sale for $5.99 after mega deal. For stores that double up to $1 the final price is $3.99….this is a great deal for 16 DOUBLE rolls of toilet paper. I also stocked up on the Ragu pasta sauce for .78 after coupons. Thanks you Joyln and everyone who put posted their deals this week!!
Where is the scotts coupon?
TIA
It was in this last weekends paper…..I believe it was SS.
If i buy 5 Fiber one and 5 Nature valley bars in the same transacton will i get 2 $3 catalinas?
They should, as it’s two different Catalina promotions.
TY Whitney
I bought 4 of the Fiber One granola bars (the two different varieties with $.50/1) and I got a $2 catalina from Fiber One.
I didn’t get a catalina from the fiber one chewy granola bars and just to let everyone know that the motts snack and go applesauce does not double at the Kroger in Howell.
Applesauce did not double for me either in flint
It wont double anywhere, its coded that way. Unfortunately w/ the new bar codes on coupons I dont know how to tell whether the coupon will double or not until you use the coupon. Old bar codes start w/ a 5 or 9 and that lets you know, but not the new ones. I shopped at Howell today too and got my fiber one cat. Sometimes the catalina machine takes a rest, did you get any cats or just not that one. If you e-mail them they will mail it to. Just have your receipt handy because they ask for lots of info from it.
I am so confused. I went shopping used this list and the coupons and my total were not the same. My Kroger’s told me that $2.49 is the sale price. That you don’t subtract additional $.50. So the total price for my cereal with the $.75 coupon was $.99. This was like this was all of the items. If I take additional $.50 off that would me Kroger’s is giving me a $10 discount for buying 10 participating items. Am I missing something?
Emily noticed inconsistencies in her receipt this week, too, though her total was right. For example, they listed Goldfish as $0.99, then an additional $0.50 off. That would mean $0.49/bag, which isn’t right. Sounds like you encountered the same thing. Some things were listed correctly – others were not (but in her case it all worked out the same in the end).
I am so confused. I bought exactly 10 items. Here is what my receipt shows.
Birdseye frzen veg $1.29 (this is listed three times)
AUTOMATIC COUPON .40 (what is this?)
Mega Event Savings 0.50-
Cascadian Grnl bars $2.49
AUTOMATIC COUPON .40
Mega Event savings 0.50-
Total whl grn $2.29 (this is listed three times)
AUTOMATIC COUPON 0.80
Mega Event Savings 0.50-
Fiber1 Nty cereal $2.29 (this is listed three times)
AUTOMATIC COUPON 1.70
Mega event savings 0.50-
TOTAL= ?? If I subtract the automatic coupon amount and the mega event savings amount then the total price is ridiculous, like $.09!!! So I know that can’t be right. If I subtract only the mega event of $.50 then that is closer to what you list. BUT after coupons I ended up paying $.99 per box of cereal (not$.49 or in my case $.29) , $.59 for veggies(not $.29 or .09) and $.99 for granola bars(which matches what is listed)
I used
three of the $.35/1 Birds eye (doubled is $.70 =$2.10 off)
one of the $.75/ Cascadian product (doubled is $1.50=$1.50 off)
three of the $.75/1 total whole cereal (doubled is $1.50 =$4.50 off)
three of the $.75/1 fiber1 cereal (doubled is $1.50 =$4.50 off)
so TOTAL Manufacturers coupons are $12.60 off
the TOTAL at the end of my receipt is $7.50
This is still a FANTASTIC deal. And I wouldn’t have gotten it without this AWESOME site. Thanks so much. I just want to do it right and get the best deal possible, I mean whats the point if you not trying to get the most/best for your dollar. SO, please HELP… I am very new to this “participating items” thing. And the way my receipt looks doesn’t help!!
It’s normally not such a mess. Someone who entered items into the system must have gotten a little off track. My receipt tonight was deceiving as well, showing that my Kleenex should have been $0.49 instead of $0.99 before coupon. Calculate instead what you expected to pay per item and it should be correct.
I think Auto Coupon is what they are subtracting from the original high price and then you subtract the mega price from that.
$3.00 reg
$2.60 sale (-.40 auto coupon)
$2.10 after -.50 mega discount
I noticed the same thing on mine, and I wonder if they aren’t listing the “after savings” prices on the receipts for free item coupons (like the Mott’s Snack N Go B1G1), so that customers aren’t getting the extra $0.50 savings “free” too. It removes the need for cashiers to recognize participating items and adjust the coupon amount accordingly. Just a thought …
I went shopping today and all my items were on the receipt correctly. you do have to buy in multiples of 10. so if you bought total or fiber one cereal your receipt should say
2.49
under that -.50 mega event savings
which means you paid 1.99 but your receipt wont say 1.99 it says
2.49 – .50 .
Now I shopped on Monday and bought 10 items and 1/2 my receipt said the sale price then – .50 and the other 5 items said the mega sale price and – .50 . but I got what the shelf price said, not the mega sale price and another .50 off.
I was so confused by my receipt today too! I’ll have to take a second look.
automatic coupon is the difference between the sale price and regular price.
$3 reg price
$2 on sale
automatic coupon would be $1- this has nothing to do w/ mega
Cascadian farms cereal is 2.49 mega price -your receipt should say 2.99 – .50 mega price – some items are saying 2.49 – .50 mega price – which would be 1.99 but its not 1.99 mega its 2.49. I just added up what I knew I should pay w/ mega shelf tag prices and my coupons and my total was correct. Not sure what your total cereal is on sale for my store is 1.99. so it would say 2.49 – .50 mega price.
I went to Flint a month ago with my friend we got most of the coupon items can’t wait to go back up there
the edys is thru 9/9 for 2.99 sale and turkey hill is also on sale 2.99 w/ $1/2 paper – thru 9/2 i think.
Woodhaven MI had stayfree pads for $1.99 – $2 coupon from 8/5 SS so FREE!
These $2 off coupons were in my 7/22 SS
Had problems at 2 different Krogers this week. Livonia (5 mile/Merriman) the uscan cashier said “it says you have too many coupons”, I said “no, I have 4 coupons for Fiber One and I bought 4 boxes”. She mummbled something and then said “Go ahead”. I paid, and when I looked later, 2 of the coupons had not been put through. Minus $2 for me. Westland (Warren/Middlebelt) the uscan cashier had to manually put in the last 2 coupons, took him a few minutes but at least I didn’t get shorted again. Livonia store uscan ladies (2 of them, daytime, weekdays) are NOT nice. Need to avoid that store.
Jennifer,
The automatic coupon is the amount taken off of the origInal price. So say something was $1.99 and on sale for $1.79 before the mega price-the automatic coupon is $.20. Then if you bought 10 participating items an additional $.50 comes off. Hope that made sense!!!
The Starburst/Skittle .50/1 mfg cpn exp 9/30/12 says DND, so that would make them .34 ea.
I have a question about the 3 “like” coupons. There are several different .50/1 coupons out for the fiber one bars. If I use 2 .50/1 printables and 2 .50/1 from the newspaper, will all 4 double?
Not at Howell. It’s 3 coupons per type of item. So you can’t even use coupons of different amounts if it’s over the 3 (like using (3) $0.50/1 and another $1/1 for 4 of the same items…this is a no-go at Howell). However, I have heard some stores allow more than 3 like coupons so long as you get a variety of flavors (so 3 like coupons for 3 ranch dressings and then 3 more coupons for 3 french dressings). Clear as mud? You’d have to ask your store.
More Mega Items
Gorton’s fish – There’s a printable Q listed on the database.
Welch’s Jelly – Might be a matchup. The 35c insert coupon says any size or flavor but the ones that say Natural had the mega tags so I’m not sure if they are supposed to match to the Q or not.
Toll House cookie dough is also mega and there’s an insert Q
I used the 50c off insert Q to buy my Total cereal and it had $1 off Dnd peelie on it that expires 6/27/13
Is the Fiber One / Nature Valley catalina rolling?
yes
I think I’m going to have to make a quick run there today. The dial coupon in the YES paper is for .35/any and the store sale is .88 that makes it .18 a bottle today only (unless that price is a drop for more than a week)
I tried to use some smartsource coupons today at Kroger and I was told I could not use them becuase they had no watermark in the date box. Has any one else had this happen? or did I have a cashier that was confused? I printed another smartsource coupon today, no watermark.
I had a few coupons that would not scan. I don’t know which site I printed them from. I thought that was strange.
Coupons.com coupons have a watermark in the date box. Smartsource coupons have a watermark behind the amount/description.
