KROGER COUPON POLICY
You can now view the Kroger coupon policy for Michigan online.
Please that Kroger’s coupon policy clearly states in each store ad: Limit 3 Manufacturer’s Coupons will be Doubled (up to $0.50) per Like Items Purchased.
You WILL need a Kroger card to take advantage of these offers; sign up for one at the Customer Service desk if you do not have one!
NOTE on Printable Coupons: Some Kroger stores have been denying the redemption of any printable coupon over $1, so proceed with caution when using printable coupons. You can view/print the Kroger Print-at-Home Coupon Acceptance Policy here, which does not specifically restrict the use of printables over $1.
KROGER SHOPPING TIPS
SELECT Kroger stores outside of Macomb (some stores in Saginaw and Genessee counties along with the Howell location – view a full list here or a map of stores here) will double manufacturer’s coupons up to $1.00! This can mean a great savings (and some potential free items each week). If your travels happen to take you north, check the Kroger ad (search by zip code) for the areas you’re passing through. You just might want to pack your coupons, too!
Load digital coupons to your Kroger card before you shop: visit Cellfire, P&G eSaver, Shortcuts and Kroger Digital Coupons. Each website lists the e-coupons that can be loaded onto your Kroger Card so that you can save even more! E-coupons are limited to one use per card and will NOT double. Kroger digital coupons may NOT be combined with actual paper manufacturer coupons.

I like how you have added the section with super deals from the stores that double up to a dollar. I just started shopping at one and have scored lots of great buys! Thanks for letting us know about those extra bargains!
Shelley J. says
I agree đ The time you put into your site is appreciated Jolyn đ
Autumn says
I love it, too! Thanks so much!
Rachel says
There was a $0.75/1 coupon for Heluva Good dip in today’s SS, making it free if your store doubles to $1.
lizz says
The coupon says do not double đ
Shelley J. says
The do not double are pretty discrete on those coupons. I have learnt that from the past, lol.
Rachel says
Hmm, didn’t even notice that, but apparently the cashier didn’t either because the computer still doubled it.
Shelley says
Hey Rachel, I missed it myself the first time too several coupons back for this product. Actually the cashier picked up on it and therefore would not double the coupon. It is smack in the the middle of the coupon in very small print and it would be so easy to miss. It is crazy with it generally being at the top of the coupon. I have been seeing this on a few occasions lately, just like the Bear Creek Pasta Mix one too .. in fine print in the details of the coupon. There is not too many coupons that say DND, but personally I have not figured out why some manufacturers choice to have their coupons say DND when the store is the one absorbing the doubling amount. Does anyone know why!?
Esther a homeschool momma in Mid-Michigan says
@Shelley
I just emailed Bear Creek to ask them why they put this on their coupons. I’ve been wondering this also! More and more mfgs are putting “Do Not Double” on their coupons that aren’t easy to notice at first! I’m blessed to shop at two different stores that double $1.00 coupons and now they both don’t double the coupon if it says “DND” That means I have to work harder to save my family the same amount of money than if it always doubled.
Shelley J. says
Thanks Ester, keep us updated !! It will be interesting to see what they have to say. I totally agree that it is becoming much more common to see the DND, and so often done in such small print. I only remember it basically be at the top of the coupons in the past too.
Shelley J. says

Liz M says
I can’t find this coupon at all, the data base say’s there is one. Can you help, like what was before it and after it. Thank you đ
Kimmy says
I’m sorry Liz, I clip mine asap and put in my binder. I think it was from a few weeks ago…maybe the first Oct. 30 or Nov th.
Angie Mullins says
I’ve heard that the coupons that say DND will still often double if the bar code starts with a 5? Anyone know if this is true?
Kay says
Usually the system WILL double them automatically if the code starts with a 5, but most cashiers override them so they WON’T double when they see the DND on the coupon. At least they always do for me! đ
Shelley says
Thas has been my experience at both Kroger and Vg’s too. Now at Meijer, they will allow them to double if they scan.
kerry vetter says
Does anyone have any extra coupons for the Nesquick or Activia they will not use? I will gladly trade for some other coupons.
Thank you!
Nancy says
I have 4 Activia q and 2 Nesquick q. My e-mail address is [email protected]. I would like a self addressed stamped envelope.
Tracy says
Please Do anybody know which Kroger’s double up to $ 1.00
Collene says

Shelley J. says
Saginaw, Davison, Flint, Grand Blanc, etc. double up to $1.00. There is also a list that you can make reference to but I can think of the site right now .. hopefully someone will comment too.
Also sorry Shelley, I forgot to put the J. after Shelley on my recent comments. We both have a great spelling, ha!?
emily says
If you are buying any kashi cereal dont forget to enter your codes on the box at recyclebank -my friend says they are worth 30 points.
Agnes says
The Hartland Kroger doubles to $.50. Also, they are only letting you use 3 like coupons per order, and you cannot do separate transactions:( They just started to crack down on their store policies. Not real happy cause there’s times when I would like to use 4 coups. Oh well.
Meg says
Howell Krogers doubles to $1. Three like coupons per transaction. They don’t like seperate transactions, but will do it if the orders are small.
kurstin says

Amy Loynes says
On the Heluva Good coupon, I was able to print 10 times and stopped because shouldn’t need any more. Not sure how many would have let me print. Anyone want to try? đ Coupon is good until 1/31/2012.
kari says
the coupon says it’s gone…I guess you printed them all!!!! lol
Jennifer B. says
I was able to print off 4 today đ
Amy Loynes says
Oh no!! Now I feel like a pig!
Amy Loynes says
Also, at my Kroger store..(Owosso) that doubles to $1, they have changed their policy once again. On printed coupons off the internet you may only use 1 for each manufacturer. I ask their policy every time that I go to store and was not told this until I spent 2 hours shopping and was in the checkout. Make sure you check and double check! What an awful experience! I’m wondering if the extra dollar off is worth all the hoops you have to jump through for Kroger? đ
Raeanne says
I go to that store as well. I just want to clarify. You mean two prints of the same coupon with only 1 manufacturer name or just 1 print per manufacturer? I hope that makes sense…
Kimmy says
I was wondering the same thing as Raeanne. I was there last week and they would double 2 internet coupons (up to one $1) for each company. Example I could use 2 ip coupons on campells soup but not on campells gravy because they were from the same manufacturer. I hope they haven’t changed it since last week!!
Amanda M says
Yes…I find this extremely frustrating! So I have to check labels to make sure product “X” and product “Y” aren’t made by the same company??!! But, this rule only applies to printable coupons?? I also had a coupon last week that said “redeemable at Babies R Us” on it…it was a manufacturers coupon and they refused it because “it was another store’s coupon” I am getting really tired of Kroger’s ever changing coupon policy…
Amy Loynes says
The cashier AND the manager told me that on the printable coupons..off the internet…that you can only use one of like manufacturer. So if I bought three different kind of General Mills products then I can only use one printable on one product. I had yogurt, pie crust, and rolls I think that were all made by the same manufacturer, so I put the pie crust and rolls back and only bought the yogurt. They said this only applies to the printable.
Mary says
Going there(Owosso) today… Thanks for the heads up on this. As busy moms we don’t have time to waste, wish they would leave it alone.
Christina says
The Kroger I shop at in Genesse County will only allow only 1 printed coupon unless there are unique numbers on them. On most of the printed coupons there are unique “serial numbers” on them. IF you show that to them then they realize its two different coupons and not just photo copies.
Kimmy says
So I guess they changed their policy from 2 coupons per company to one…grrr…I’m going now and we’ll see how it goes.
FrugalBehind says

Liz M says
Hi everyone, I’m in the ypsilanti area and would like to make a road trip this week to the Howell Kroger. Does anyone have any tips for that store for me. I would much appreciate any help i can get so my surprises will be at a low. đ thanks in advance Liz M
lizz says
There is a heavier-set woman with light brown hair(about chin length) Avoid her as a cashier at all costs….you will spend 3x longer in her line if you have coupons! Also, expect to not find everything you are after and be willing to get rainchecks and make another trip in a couple weeks! I was just there today and 90% of the G.M. sale stuff was gone!
Carrie says
Would you like a shopping partner, I really want to find someone to go there with
Liz M says
Thanks for the advice Lizz, i will avoid her line đ Are they strick on their coupons? My store will accept many coupons per trans that double, so i never have to do seperate transactions. I want to be ready at checkout if i do have to seperate coups.
Carrie, I’m planning on going tomorrow morning (thursday) while the kiddies are in school. here’s my e-mail so we can figure something out. [email protected]

Jenna says
I was at the Westland Kroger recently (the one that had the gunman in an SUV a few days ago). They cashier told me they were putting in new rules each week, and it was tough to keep up. I thought it was funny she blamed Extreme Couponing on TLC. I told her “But most of those stores are Krogers, or Kroger sister stores” she told me that was the big problem, that people saw there stores signs and even without the name knew which one it was and so now corporate is trying to crack down one of those “be careful what you wish for you never know what you’ll get moments” for Kroger. Dont know how try it was but it was interesting for her to be direct.
tiff says
looking for the $2.00 jimmy dean sausage cp when you buy oj ! cant seem to find ne with differ zips? ne 1 out there get it?

tiff says
oh and in ohio kroger (last i checked …last wk) was accepting 5 like manf coupons per transaction and only one transaction person
Marianne says
I was at the Kroger in GB on Sunday morning and several of us noticed that there was a stack of messed up Sunday papers it looked like someone took them to the back of the store, took the inserts out and left them in the bread section. Hope they seen it on camera. What a way to get free inserts.
FrugalBehind says
That ‘way’ has a name… it’s called theft.
Jennifer B. says
That is very SAD that people are doing this! And just because of people like this I have to check every paper I buy to make sure the inserts are there. I hope they figure out who that person is! I <3 my coupons but I would never steal them!
Shelley J. says
I agree, stealing coupon circulars from a store is awful, and I have heard this from store managers before too. The way I look at it .. the $17.00 that I pay a month for the Sunday paper is really nothing in comparison to all the savings that come our way each month !! For those of you that have a Wellness Reward card with Rite Aid, it is a great place to get your Sunday paper. With the 10% off all non-prescription purchases every day (not on sale items), the paper is only $1.35 !!
Danya says
I have the same problem with Auburn Hills Meijer and people stealing papers. I have learned to go there first thing in the morning! Even past noon, the area where the papers are located is already trashed!
Rachel says
Marianne, that’s why I stopped buying my papers at the GB Kroger. The BP on the corner of Perry and Saginaw has a wonderful cashier who works Sunday mornings; she watches the papers like a hawk to make sure people don’t gut them before they buy them.

Be on the lookout for free $10 itunes card on schick smp packages. You need 2 codes for 1 $10 card… limit 2 per household.

So annoyed with the kroger in Burton on belsay road. First, they were out of all free items. But then once I was at the end of my order at check out and everything was bagged, the cashier questioned me and made me go back to my cart 9 times to confirm and show her that I bought the right items to match my coupons. I can understand doing it 1-2 times, but I had to go thru and fish out all my items to show her cause she couldn’t remember if I had purchased certain items. I was getting so angry after standing there for 35 minutes, that I finally told her off and said that it should be part of her job to remember which items that she’s scanning. She should’ve peaked at my coupons before scanning the items!! Ugggg!!!

I DETEST that store and will not go there again. I could share my tale of woe, but it is similar enough to yours to just say, “ditto,” and be done with it! Drive over to Davison; it’s not that far away and it is SOOOOO much better.

I put my couopns & store card on the counter before the cashier starts. If he/she goes thru the transaction and THEN asks about products I tell him/her to print the receipt & look or scroll thru the screen. While I have many issues at the Kroger in Howell that is not one of them. The cashiers I usually go to flip thru them first & ask a question or two to make sure we’re both ready. Find one or two cashiers you like & always use them!

Theres a secret to the Question of the Do Not Double Coupons.Check your coupons. If the number on the bar code section of the coupon starts with a 5 it will double on a scan cash register. If the number starts with a 9 it will scan only straight value as all of the red box coupons do. If the number starts with a 1 It is a store coupon that is only accepted at a particular store. I hope this little tip will save you time and even more money at the grocery store.
Autumn says
You’re right about all of that, but at my store, the cashiers take the coupons from you and carefully read each one (which I have no problem with because this keeps everyone honest, and I think favorable coupon policies will stay in place longer without abuse), and if is SAYS “do not double,” they will make sure it doesn’t. I always plan my trip around what the coupon actually SAYS vs. its code for this reason —

What’s the deal here? Isn’t the double value offer by the store? or the manufacture doubling the coupons?
Kelly S says
I always go by what the coupon says. That way I’ll be happily surprised if/when it doubles. The stores are responsible for the cost of doubling when the mnf coupon says do not double, so I can’t complain when they don’t want to double a coupon that says do not double.

Schick is on sale B1G1 and coupons from 11/13 B1G1 make them free!) I got 8!
Shelley J. says
Amy, many Krogers will not allow that. To use a buy BIGI coupon on a BIGI sale, it requires that you purchase one too. Using one BOGO coupon, you would have to go to the register with 3 .. one is free from the store sale and one is free from the coupon. This was at the Baldwin Rd. Kroger, and she checked with the manager too. Couponing can be tricky with each store doing things differently, even within the same chain, for example each Kroger in this case.
Amy says
I’m so sorry to hear that, Shelley. I was at the Kroger in Howell. She told me that I could only use 3 coupons, so I passed the 4th one back to my cousin and gave him 2 of my packs of razors. She gave me a hard time on a lot of my coupons, but not those. Thanks for the heads up on the Baldwin Rd Kroger! You’re right….It’s getting harder and harder to keep up with all of the new rules!

I’m very sorry – that was my oversight. đ I’ve removed it.

Where did you find the 40 cents off 1 cool-whip coupon?

http://silksoymilk.com/ has a $1/1 coupon if you register. It looks like you can print up to two periodically (probably once a month, but I haven’t had to buy soy since August lol….). If you log in or register, the final price on Silk is $1.99. If your Kroger doesn’t double more than $0.50, this is a great alternative.

With the GM promo going on: buy 4 participating products get a free gallon of milk, and the discounted turkey to $0.39/lb with $10 purchase, if you combine the 2, it’s a great deal! I bought a large turkey, 3 nature valley sweet & salty bars, 1 pillsbury sweet moments and a gallon of milk all for about $6.00 total. It would have been $3 if my cellfire coupon had worked. I purposely picked out 4 GM products that had coupons for $0.50/1 and not off multiple products like $0.50/2, so I got $4.00 off the $10 needed to spend rather than less! I stretched that $10 needed for the cheap turkey as far as I could stretch it! *note, I also had a $4.00 off Kroger coupon from my purchase of almond milk a couple weeks ago which helped!
Amanda says
So the kroger I went to the turkey was .59 cents a lb..Not sure why it would be different, but at the time I thought maybe I had just miss read their ad online but when I got home I looked it up and it obviously said .30 cents a lb but I got charged .59 cents. Not to happy about it. Didn’t know if they would do anything so I just left it alone. Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem?
