I have listed only what I consider to be the best deals this week. View the complete VG’s Ad for all of the advertised specials.

This post is a proud part of the Grocery Gathering at BeCentsable and the Local Store Deals at Money Saving Mom.

These VG’s stores double coupons to $0.50: Brighton, Fenton, Marine City, North Fenton, Pontiac, Shelby, Sterling Heights & Waterford

As posted in the store and online:

The following guidelines have been established in order to keep our prices low, remain competitive and ensure availability of product for all our customers.

  • Product listed on coupon must be purchased in order for coupon to be redeemed.
  • We will redeem only one coupon per product.
  • Coupon must have a valid expiration date. We are unable to redeem if expiration date has been cut off.
  • We are happy to double coupons up to and including $0.50 cents.
  • There is a limit of 3 like coupons per household/per day, including multiple varieties. We are unable to split orders to assist in exceeding these limits.
  • Coupons that state “Do Not Double” will be redeemed at face value only.
  • Coupon value, including the amount being doubled, shall not exceed the price the product is sold for.
  • In-store promotional coupons (Catalina) will be generated based on value of product “after” deduction of Manufacturer/Store coupon(s).
  • We are happy to accept internet printable coupons, however, we are unable to accept photocopies of these coupons.
  • On a “buy one get one free” offer, we will redeem a coupon for the item being purchased only. We are unable to redeem coupons for the items that are being offered free.

VG’s offers a $0.05 reusable bag credit per bag you bring. You may have to remind your cashier, however, as the credit is not automatic.

You’ll find printable Spartan coupons at the Turn to Spartan website. You’ll need to register first. Coupons will NOT double, but they could stretch your savings on Spartan brands even further.

Save your receipts – as part of VG’s Community Share Program, they can benefit non-profit groups in Michigan. You don’t need to sign up; simply find a participating group and submit your receipts. Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica uses the Community Share Program to purchase socks for the homeless. You can leave your receipts at the front desk there if you can’t find another organization.

There was a little picture in the ad that said “cereal club”. Does anybody have info on that? TIA

  2. 8

    john says

Most flint stores double to a $1. The cereal club is that you earn 50 bonus points for every general mills cereal you buy

    coupon guy says

does anyone have a good standard from which to determine when bath tissue is a good price per roll? seems when i do the math the best it ever comes out to is 25 cents/roll. the Scotts deal above comes out to around 47 cents/roll even if your store doubles to $1. perhaps these are double rolls?

    • 11

      Stacey says

A while back, there was an article posted on this site covering this topic…. the general rule is $0.01/sq ft, which doesn’t correlate to roll size/price. You’d need to look at the square footage on the package to determine whether it’s a good deal.

      • 12

        Shelley says

I do not remember the post that Stacey mentioned but I happen to agree with her. I stocked up on Cottonelle Ultra comfort care (purple packages) 12 large rolls at Walgreens last week. I used two manufacturer coupons (.75/1), the $1/1 Walgreens Cottonelle coupon found in the October Coupon Booklet, and then to even make the deal better, I received a 3.00 Register Reward for purchasing two packages. I ended up only paying $3.50 after RR for 2-12 packages. Now that equates to about .15 cents per large roll for 2 ply which is an awesome price !! I believe that this deal is going on until the end of October so you may want to snag this deal too coupon guy. For any of you that may get the Kroger mailer .. I received a 3.00/2 Cottenelle coupon which even made this deal sweeter. Good luck.

      Jewels says

The 12 roll Scotts is mega size rolls, on the pkg it says 12 mega rolls= 36 reg rolls(just bought yesterday)@ 4.99 (6.99-2.00 w/ 1.00 coupon doubled)= approx 0.14 per regular sized roll

      • 14

        Shelley says

I believe that toliet paper is one of the hardest items to compare. Just the fact that there is just so much to compare, mega rolls, large rolls, 1 ply, 2 ply, square foot, preference, etc. For myself, I find a lot better deals at the drugstores when you are able to get RR, ECB, Up’s, etc. and incooperate them into the savings. It is just a matter of rolling them on your next shopping trip.

    • 15

I’m not sure about per roll, but I do prefer the meijer premium which is good and typically they have a good sale!

Jill, if you are out there, I wrote you a note in last week’s forum in response to your last post there! : )

      Jill says

Thank you so much, Autumn!! I left a response there, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone’s support. You truly made me laugh out loud!! If the employees aren’t always a joy during couponing, at least the people you meet in the process can be.
A special thanks to Jolyn, who hears it all the time. Thank you for giving us the place to exchange thoughts, ideas, and occasionally a rant or two!!

$1.99 Pillsbury Toaster Strudel, Scrambles or Pancakes
-$0.40 on each when you buy 10 participating GM products
-$0.50/2 Pillsbury coupon (from 8-7, 9-11 or 10-2 GM or printable or printable)
$1.09 each when you buy 2 with coupons

Above is one of the posts from the B to B list and am listing additional coupons below. The coupons that I have cut and in my binder are 1.00/3 (expires 10-29), 0.75/3 (expires 12/24), 0.75/3 (expires 12/3). Sorry that I can not help you with the issue date, but I think they may have been from the GM circular too, and definately from the Detroit Free Press. The 1.00/3 will make it a little sweeter deal at a store that doubles coupons to 1.00 !!

    • 20

      Jewels says

The cashier told me there was no limit on the buy 10 get $4 off- I was able to purchase 30 items and received $12 off my order no problem. They also have items not advertised in the circular included in the sale, glad I took my binder!

      • 21

        Shelly says

Today at the Marine City VG’s I bought 20 of the sale items & only $4 came off. I asked the service desk about this & after talking to a manager the woman told me it was 1 promotion PER CUSTOMER. I don’t know if she meant per day or what, but I’m not going back to try again tomorrow, they already got me for 10 items w/o honoring the sale :-/
On a side-note: their promotional tags were very confusing on the shelves. Cereal said “reg. 3.79 buy 10 get $4 price 2.79!” & pilsbury biscuits “reg $1.99 buy 10 get $4 price $1.99” Neither of those made sense & they weren’t the only 2 items like that….

Is the 50 cents off a gallon before coupons? Just wondering if anybody knows trying to put together the best deal I can and get 50 off!

  7. 26

    jessica says

I didn’t know that the sterling hts vgs does not except more than 3 coupons of the same item. does anyone know if it states that in there policy??? i had 4 one dollar off coupons and she would not expect it even tho this location does not double.

    • 27

      Christina says

Sorry, Jessica… they will refuse to take more than three of any identical coupons. It doesn’t matter if it will double or not… I confirmed with management at the 23Schoehner store the other day when I was going to buy the body washes that were on sale.

Does the Michelina’s Frozen Entrees printable coupon ever reset? I printed this coupon a few months back and ever since I have not been able to print it. TYA

    • 29

      Shelley says

I have noticed the same Ashley. I was able to print the one type though and were included in the sale.

    • 30

      Paula says

Usually you can print 2 coupons per computer. If it tells me I have already printed my quota, I plug in the lap top and usually can print 2 more.

  9. 31

    Shelley says

The Kruchers chips are on sale for $2.50, so with the coupon, only .50 cents. A yummy chip !!

Also the Arm & Hammar Fabric Sheets still remain to priced at 1.00/package regular price. This makes two boxes free with 1.00/2 coupon at a Vg’s that doubles up to $1.00.

  10. 32

    Lisa in Brighton says

According to the VGs District Manager (2 weeks ago at the Brighton location at the time I spoke to him), whether or not the individual stores are close to competitor stores that double up to $1 depends on whether the VGs store does. Since Brighton Meijer and Kroger only double coupons up to 0.50, then so does the Brighton VGs. Howell VGs has a competitor (Kroger, I think?) that doubles up to $1; therefore, the Howell VGs does as well. However, I was told that Kroger is changing their coupon policy soon so that they will only double up to 0.50 as well. Be careful, though, as it’s not advertised when they do make the switch and you’re left holding several 0.75 coupons when you could have brought the 0.50 ones!

    • 33

      Shelley says

I agree that this seems to be the case when Vg’s changed their coupon policy at some of their stores. The Vg’s in Davison still continues to double coupons up to $1.00 but they do have have a Kroger within a mile or so that does too. Lisa, are you talking about all Krogers that still double coupons up to $1.00, or just your Kroger changing their coupon policy when it comes to doubling coupons up to $1.00 ?? Thanks.

    At howell…
The Activia multipacks are 1.99 making them free after the recent $1 coupon.
The yoplait light crunch 2-packs are 1.99, and are 1.60 if you do the 10/$4 deal. There is a .75 coupon out on them – great deal!

Cheez Its are $2 and there is a $1/2, making them $1 each.

Bear Creek soup mixes are $2.99, making them $1 after the 1/1 coupons.
