UPDATE: Kroger stores in Michigan ended double coupons at ALL stores on May 14, 2014. You will no longer be able to find any Kroger store in Michigan that doubles to any amount. Coupons are now accepted at face value. Read more here.
Please note that all information below is NO LONGER VALID as of May 14, 2014.
Metro Detroit area Kroger stores double 3 identical coupons up to $0.50. So one of the most frequent questions I receive each week is:
Where can I find a Kroger store that will double $1.00 coupons?
SELECT Kroger stores outside of Macomb (some stores in Saginaw and Genessee counties along with the Howell location – view a full list here) will double manufacturer’s coupons up to $1.00! This can mean a great savings (and some potential free items each week). If your travels happen to take you north, check the Kroger ad (search by zip code) for the areas you’re passing through. You just might want to pack your coupons, too!
Wendy, a Bargains to Bounty reader, has plotted all of the double-to-$1 Kroger locations on a map for your convenience (especially for those of us who are visual learners). Click here to view the full map (you can zoom in on specific areas).
Wendy has also contacted each location and confirmed all of these stores as double-dollar stores (with the exception of one store that has closed – see the comments for details). This list is subject to change, so you may want to call customer service before you plan on shopping one of these Kroger stores.
Take a look at the Best Deals at Kroger this week.
You can also view the Kroger coupon policy for Michigan online.
Please that Kroger’s coupon policy clearly states in each store ad: Limit 3 Manufacturer’s Coupons will be Doubled (up to $0.50) per Like Items Purchased.

How can we get our local Krogers to do this??? VG’s is the only store which doubles in my area (Ann Arbor) but it is a 25 minute drive!

I can verify the 2 Bay County stores (in Bay City and Essexville, the 2 northern most pins on the map) double up to and including $1. They do enforce the limits of 3 like coupons per transaction (well, except for 1 young man); and cashiers are trained to NOT double if the coupon states “Do not double” – amount does not matter, this applies to $0.50 coupons too. However, I have never had a problem completing multiple transactions at either location.

Perrysburg, OH is not on the map you posted but if you have Toledo area readers…the Perrysburg Kroger will double up to $1.00 and any coupon between $1-2 will be worth $2.00. They will double 4 like coupons. This store does claim that it is a promotion but they have been doing it for the two years that I have been shopping there.

I just posted a small clip of the actual map. Wendy did include Perrysburg in her map if you follow the link. 🙂

I just called the Howell Kroger and was told that they DO double coupons up to $1.00 they do limit it to 3 coupons of the exact coupon. They are open from 6am-Midnight everyday.

Hi!
I decided to finish my research and call all the stores to verify their coupon policies. All of the stores listed DO double coupons up to $1.00. Please note that the two stores listed in Saginaw on State Street are closed and it looks like they consolidated into one store at 4672 State St. and that location does double coupons up to $1 as well. With the exception of the Perrysburg, OH store, all of the stores have the same policy of doubling coupons up to $1.00 with a maximum of three similar coupons. If doubling exceeds the price of the item, the coupon value will adjust down to the price of the item (sorry – can’t make money here). The stores say they will not double coupons that say “do not double.” The Perrysburg store will double coupons up to $1.00 with a maximum of “four coupons per customer per day per item.” I see that Shelly added that “any coupon between $1-2 will be worth $2.00” at the Perrysburg store. Wished I lived closer to Perrysburg! Hopefully this info will help you to save more money. Blessings! -Wendy

any clue why NO STORES in Wayne County do this? C’mon! LOL
Carol K says
I know, right? I have every reason to go elsewhere. Lots of competition in western Wayne Co… There are so many Spartan stores, 2 Meijer’s, a Walmart Supercenter, all within 10 minutes of me. I would only shop at Kroger if they doubled to $1.

I can personally verify that the Kroger in Davison (700 N. State Street 810-653-4175) will also double to $1 (3 like coupons). I have never had any problems doing multiple orders.
PS State Street is M15

Does anyone know of any stores in central Indiana that double up to $1?
Monroe on a Budget says
Here’s my suggestion – keep track of which stores do this. Then say you are going to be in the area anyway to visit friends or relatives, do other shopping, or drive the kids to activities.
Put the cooler in your car to have handy for cold purchases, pack your coupons and do your shopping. As long as you saved enough to make up for the gas money, you come out ahead (and if you are already in the area then …)

Not sure how my husband is going to feel about having to visit Kroger every time we visit his parents in Saginaw now that I know 🙂
Jolyn says
The savings are worth it! We pack our Kroger coupons every time we visit family there!

I don’t know if this was a fluke – but earlier this summer we stopped at the Main Street, Frankenmuth store. I had q’s for $1.50 off of Danonino. Went to the UScan, but the cashier still scans your Q’s — when he scanned them, they took off $1.50 plus $.50 “bonus” coupon. So, I don’t know if that means qs over a dollar get raised to the $2 max – they were the only ones I had like that.
This was during one of their buy 10 get $5 off promos – and holy cow did we make out like bandits that week.
We take a cooler, and plan for extra time to stop at VGs and Kroger on the way to Grannies – it’s a pain sometimes, but my folks love when the van pulls in the driveway – they get to come out and shop for anything they need or want.

One other thing you might want to check into. I know my store in Warren, MI accepts expired coupons. So I have a separate binder for my Krogers coupons. Once they expire I move them to the other binder.
