just a “heads-up”…Went to the Howell Kroger & used several cellfire/shortcuts coupons along with paper coupons. I was scolded at the checkout for using both. I was still going to buy them with only my paper coupons, but because the internet coupons could not be removed from my shopper’s card, they wouldn’t let me buy them! While this was a never a problem before, they told me that this was strictly prohibited by their coupon policy.
Thanks, Mary! That’s one of the reasons that I try not to encourage the use of both e-coupons and actual coupons – Kroger is starting to recognize and restrict the use of both. You may want to express your concerns to Kroger corporate directly (the contact info can be found on their website).
i dont get how they expect people to remember what is loaded to their card…and sometimes it doesnt even work. If they dont want you to use both the computer should be prompting the cashier to ask if you would like to add the e-coupons that are available on your card, its not a hard software fix for them. I hope they voided that transaction and let you buy your items without your kroger card.
Mary , I think you were treated poorly , I agree with Rita , they need to update their software and this is there problem not ours. I load every e-coupon I can and it isn’t my resposibility to keep track.
Also, the software people have known about this issue for over a year, so it’s not like it’s a new problem. I know they’ve know about this because they did an interview (either Cellfire or Short Cuts, not sure which, but both have the same issue) on Blog Talk Radio’s Money4Moms channel last year saying they knew this was a problem, including not being able to take it off the card once it was put on.
@Chris,
My guess is that this is why the P&G program was dropped. Kroger was unable/unwilling to track duplicates and P&G was footing the bill.
@Mary B, I bet you are right.
